I have ash old early 2009 Mac Pro:
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    Model Identifier: MacPro4,1
    Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
    Number of Processors: 1
    Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (Per Core): 256 KB
    L3 Cache: 8 MB
    Memory: 12 GB

This HD looks too good to be true:
    HGST.Hitachi (HUA723020ALA641) Ultrastar 7K3000 2TB 64MB
    7200RPM 3.5” (Enterprise Grade) SATA III 6.0Gb/s

It is too good to be true. This is a discontinued model and HGST is only the OEM here. This probably has only a one year warranty and through the seller, not HGST. It may even be a refurb.

If you are still using the drive the drive that originally came with the computer, it is time to replace it. 5 years is long enough. And a new spinning platter will definitely be faster that one from 2009.

My favorite for a desktop drive is the Western Digital Black.

I see it on Amazon (Amazon resellers) and listed as new. If that's what you want, I would not hesitate. If you buy it and it's not new, Amazon is great on returns.
