Businesses do not pay for retail price. Of all the customers of Microsoft, businesses pay a steep discount. Only consumers pay full price.

why even bother? just go to the store, tell them your hard drive failed, that you tried reinstalling everything, but it wouldn't let you. they'll probably give you a new hard drive and reload lion on to it.

You obviously have no knowledge of torrent sites beyond the pirate bay and "semi private" ones such as demonoid. You also can't *magically* insert a key logger and malware into binary files.

Of course it is, and it could never have any malware or keystroke loggers integrated. Of course not, because pirates are such ethical trustworthy people.

Pirating an OS is the epitome of fail. You have no idea what you're getting and you're installing as a root level user. Dumb, Dumb, and extra dumb.

There are much easier ways to hijack a system than by ninjaing some hax into an OS image.

Paranoia isn't always a bad thing. In fact, pirated software downloads have contained malware in the past (most notably, Adobe's CS suite and iLife '11 were both distributed on... disreputable sites with malware inserted into them). It was caught and stopped without too much trouble, but it did still infect a few machines. It's certainly not an idle concern.

OP, I'd agree with the take it to Apple suggestions at this point. Nothing to lose really, and might even be easier in the end, since there's definitely a reason that it hasn't worked with the methods you've tried.
