Hi so I might cancel my Apple Music subscription but I still have a valid Itunes Match subscription. My question is, would the uploaded songs (to Itunes match) be visible in the new Music app on my Catalina OS Mac?

Please advise. Thanks!

Yes.

The only reason I used iTunes for music was the iCloud Music Library if they do away with Match on Catalina. I'm done with using Apple for music. Still stuck with using Apple for photos because nothing on Windows can compare to macOS Photos for photos taken with an iPhone.

Match still works with the new Music.app.

I wonder if they will merge itunes match into Apple Music? I really like itunes match so..

Are you referring to "Apple Music" as the music subscription service or as the new standalone app that has been broken up from iTunes, now called "Music". I'm not understanding.

The iTunes Match service that costs $25 a year still works just the way it did in the old iTunes app.

I’m referring to apple music as in the streaming subscription service. Anyone know what plan apple has regarding itunes match?

I hope their plan is to keep iTunes Match - it's a service I've used since launch and really enjoy it.

I have never subscribed to Apple Music as I prefer to purchase songs, not rent them.

Be aware that I have encountered a bug with Music and Match. When I first upgraded to Catalina Match was working. For some random reason I opened Music one time and now Music just outright refuses to acknowledge I'm subscribed to Match. It doesn't make any indication it contacts Apple's servers to pull my Match data.

I have tried logging in and out of the Store and iCloud with no change. I have contacted Apple Support and am waiting to hear back. (I suspect it will be a long winded emailed exchange of canned replies about restarting and logging out and in and then eventually an admission they don't know how to solve the problem).

But when will it get rebranded Apple Music Match? 😎

But seriously, as someone that uses iTunes Match to access my personal music collection, and does not use Apple Music streaming service, I am glad it continues to work.
