I love the way the Apple leather case feels in the hand, but I am worried about scratching the bottom of my iphone x since there is no covering; are there any similar cases? Also I never had a leather case before, how do they manage to hold up with getting wet.

I have a anker silicone case and its very nice, but it attracts all kind of dust and very annoying.

A couple of things as a long-time user of Apple's leather cases.

1. Not covering the bottom of the device has always been a bug-bear of mine, but I have never had any damage to an iPhone as a result.

2. NEVER get it wet...they bubble and blister and look generally pretty bad when wet. I use a bees wax treatment that helps to provide a little bit of water resistance, but if they get WET, they come unglued from the base materials...the leather is very thin.

All that said - I actually love my Apple Leather Cases...I have had them for all of my iPhones from 5 to X.

You’re never going to find a full leather case that covers all sides of the iPhone, since leather does not stretch, so it would be impossible to get such a case on and off the phone. Either they are going to have an opening on the top or bottom (or both) or else they will be like the Nomad Rugged which has leather on the rear of the case and TPU around the sides (TPU can stretch).

We don't know what iPhone he has. If he's got a 5/5S or SE the Apple cases do offer wrap around protection. The Nomad Rugged case is ok, but it's just a piece of leather glued to a black plastic case. If he's got a 6/7/8 the Nomad leather case is a far better option. It offers 99% coverage with a little notch cut out above the lightning port. I'm really surprised they didn't offer this case again for the X.

i can echo. i've had an apple leather since iP6. now have a saddle brown on my X since launch and love it. the bottom of my iPhone 6 is mint and my X shows zero damage with the bottom open. I love it.

I was worried about that before I pulled the plug and got the Apple leather case but I've used it for quite awhile now and I can say I have no damage to the bottom of my phone when it's in my pocket. That said I haven't dropped it yet either so I can't attest to the protection when dropped but I have to say it's the best case I've ever used for the iPhone X. I also haven't gotten it wet and I wouldn't recommend doing so.
