I'll just wait and see what I do with the dough
If you have money burning a hole through your pocket and want to spend it on a gorgeous apple product, I would gladly accept your gift of a new MBP. That would solve your problem and my problems well. Thank you!
Right now I'm just chillin haha. I might get a ntmbp again. I'm over the back lash on here. I'm not sure how much I care what others think anymore. I just don't want to spend it on a vacay or clothes. I still think a new MacBook Pro is better.
No judgment on your choices as it doesn't impact my life. But why are you humblebraggers so surprised when you get backlash for your bragging posts? It is just as easy to get your answers without advertising your financial situation, whether true or trolling.
"I want to take a picture of my supermodel gf and my new Lambo. Will the iPhone take a good pic of this?" I ask myself this question all the time, but I edit to only ask the relevant questions. "Does the iphone take good car and softporn photos?"

Maybe people are overreacting here? I mean, fun is fun, but don't take it too seriously.
That's not the problem, see the title of your post. "Should I keep my [$1500 MBP] solely as music player." Instead of asking internet strangers to make a suspect financial decision for you, you could have said "Is the MBP a good youtube music player?" My supermodel gf is agreeing with me in bed right now.I don't consider it humble bragging to say I've got some dough that I'd like to spend, and I'm thinking of spending it on a new computer. That's a pretty reasonable thing to say.
The most up to date version of this service's magazine is in French. Try to bypass the popup if not in France. What's this???

Word. All music aficionados MUST have sound system. Macs are good sound for laptops, but real systems are a different league. Best advice I've heard on MR ever! You can get a nice LED TV to watch music videos and Apple TV to stream for less than £500 and it will be a better setup then just buying a Mac dude. If you love music so much invest into a decent sound system instead. Music is my life literally and gets me out of depression so I understand love of music. But common dude seriously? Invest in a sound system

Haha. Laserdisc. My dad still has some of those. Not to go on a tangent, but A/V building is much more economical (usually) than keeping up with computing. Speaker technology doesn't turn over at a stupid pace. People still use speakers from the 60's and the tech is nearly the same. Receivers are a different matter, but still, your receiver isn't completely useless like a computer after 5 years. I am seeing that the quality is definitely declining as the tech usually breaks before it becomes obsolete with A/V electronics. But you still enjoy setups a lot longer than computers.I think once you start, it is easy to develop a passion for and enjoyment of A/V equipment/HiFi/home theatre. I started reading Sound and Vision in middle school, and pieced together my first 5.1 system in the 9th grade with a Denon AVR 3801 and Definitive Tech floor standing/bookshelf/center/sub set (I washed a LOT of cars that summer...) Sometimes I even enjoy busting out a Laserdisc for a nice vintage trip in time.

Hey guys, I have some cash to spend and I'm thinking of buying a Ferrari to go make dump runs in. I had a Lamborghini but the steering wheel was too round and I had to return it. The color red makes me happy, and Ferrari's come in red, so it makes sense. Opinions?
The new Lambo SUV is a better tool for the job. My other model gf likes to come with so we need the space when I make dump runs. She also prefers to do it in underwear only which makes me wonder if it's affecting performance?Hey guys, I have some cash to spend and I'm thinking of buying a Ferrari to go make dump runs in. We've officially gone full tangent here. You could spend $40k, but there is also diminishing returns on sound systems. Perfect audio room designs are another story. $1500 could get you a pretty decent system for most rooms that would be not far off to most ears than a $10k system. But yeah, you could spend as much as you want on a system since everyone here has money to burn. At the lower end of the price spectrum, you get huge improvements per dollar than you do at the higher echelons.Sort of. You would be surprised at the cost of sound isolating rooms, AV receivers, amps, etc. And then the stuff changes ever few years, as new receivers and surround systems, etc. come to market. Not sure if you amortize it, computers come out more expensive. You can spend $40,000 on a audio/cinema room in a heart beat. More, if you don't have the space already!

I'd strongly recommend considering the McLaren. With the way the doors work, it would be easier to get garbage in and out of the McLaren for your runs to the local refuse

I deliver pizza in mine and the scissor doors make things easy. The ability to drive 200 MPH ain't bad either when time matters and hungry mouths are awaiting.
