Still pondering what to upgrade my XR to, if at all, and now I am wondering how the 13 mini would compare in terms of the battery? For me I just wouldn't want a downgrade in terms of battery life...

Scroll down to the Power and Battery section.

Supposedly 1 hour better for video, but 10 hours worse for audio! Doesn't say for other usage.

I’ve never owned a mini but from all the things I’ve read from people it’s not the phone you want if battery is a concern.

The actual battery sizes are 2942 mAh (XR) and 2406 mAh (13 mini). Like the poster above said, if battery life is your biggest concern, you may want to look at another phone but as a 13 mini user, I always get through a full day with usually 15-10% battery left.

Hmmm, maybe a refurb iPhone 12 would be a better bet then! Fair bit cheaper, too...
The 13 mini has better battery life than the regular 12. Many battery comparison test videos show this. The A15 chip in the 13 mini is very power efficient. Maybe a regular 13?

Agree with above, 12 and 13 mini are very comparable in terms of battery - 13 mini sometimes edging out in front. If they won’t be enough for you - look at a 13, they have v good battery life. Hopefully they will hit the refurb store in the next few months.
