Would there be a new iPad Pro coming out by the end of this year without the home button?

No. iPads are typically on an 18 month refresh. Apple just released the latest iPad Pro's with all new features and specifications. The next major iPad update would likely be 2019.

We might get a new color of iPad Pro but not upgraded hardware. I still can't believe Apple didn't release a matte/jet black pro since it's a really popular iPhone color. Instead we still iPhone 6s colors.

Although I can't say I wouldn't have welcomed a Jet black/Matte black iPad color, but the reality is, most iPad users use a case anyway that hides the color of the back plate, which I ultimately negates which color somebody chooses, unless someone uses it caseless of course.

Any place but here or there....
Probably not and I wouldn't wager there would be redesign. Though I'd love a Mini Pro.

Re: Colors considering the production and durability of the Jet and Matte Black processes, perhaps Apple are holding off given the size of the iPad Pro shells?

I'd love a black one myself, but as long as I have a black bezel, it's all good.

The iPhone is a lot more portable so I'm thinking that a lot more people put a case on an iPhone than an iPad. A lot of people use sleeves to carry them while traveling but then use them naked.

With that said, I'd die for a black iPad Pro 10.5". Don't think the Jet Black would work too well on a device that big (coming from a JB 7+ owner)

Agreed with other posters - I think we have seen all the updates we are going to see this year (although fingers crossed for some kind up update to the mini, but I'm not holding my breath). The rumours of thinner bezels led to dreams of an iPad without a screen integrated home button. I suspect that will happen eventually but it will probably be exclusive to the iPhone for at least a year, probably more.

I'd say the opposite is true, most iPhone users use a case that hides the back color, but use an iPad with only a smart cover that only covers the screen and leaves the back bare.

Didn't they busted out two iPads in the same year before? I have an iPad Air first generation. So after the iPad Air 2, I stopped caring about iPad updates.... till the iPad Pro 2. I just got back from Best Buy and checked out the 10.5 and 12.9, again.

I was thinking that maybe they will update the body with something similar to the iPhone 8 close to the holiday season. Not much of home button fan.

I've also notice that the speakers on top doesn't match the speakers at the bottom on the 10.5. I noticed it today when I went to Best Buy to check it out again.
[doublepost=1498534062][/doublepost]I hear you! That's what I'm afraid of. Not so much about the memory capacity. But more like sans home button.

Why would apple update the IPP in June, only to replace it later? They did that once, and it caused a firestorm of negativity, and angry customers.

If what you’re hoping for is a redesign and the Air is still working ok for you, then I’d wait until 2018.

If you’re not happy with the Air’s performance at the moment, and are itching to upgrade, now I think is a good time with the updated 10.5 and 12.9.

I don't think Apple will replace the home button soon ... the main driver for the solid state one on the iPhone 7 was for waterproofing. Not really a need for waterproofing on the iPad.

The speakers are not symmetrical... it really affected my OCD when I bought the 9.7 Pro and shame it's still the same on the 10.5

It's very simple... match the speakers on top with the ones at the bottom. They did it on the 12.9 inch, but not ok the 10.5? It must be something super important as to why they weren't able to do it... I'm still disappointed about it... since yesterday.

Do you see any difference in sound output when watching something in landscape mode?

It's very simple? Apple clearly Designed it a certain way for a reason. Perhaps it was an engineering design or they were limited with what they could do based on the 10.5 template. I don't think they placed the speakers to sacrifice the sound, when they know the sound is a key feature with the Pro model from the other 2017 iPad.

Do you have the 10.5 or 12.9? I'm wondering if there could be a noticeable difference on the sound output when the iPad is in landscape mode since the bottom speakers of the 10.5 isn't symmetrical to the ones on top.
