Would apple replace an iPod touch 4g at their genius bar under warranty if it has lifting glass, a wiggly power button bad battery life and lag? Also the home button is wonky. Need to know for this Saturday thanks :)

I think they should, yes. If it was only bad battery life and lag they would normally ask you to do a restore before coming in, but that shouldn't matter because lifting glass and a loose home button are clearly hardware defects.

But it always depends on the Genius. You have to go to find out, unfortunately.

Good luck.

After 5 replacements myself...if they have them in stock, they will usually replace for you. just don't go in with the attitude that they owe you something. let the genius come to that conclusion themselves. Backup, restore and you should be fine.

They always have items in stock...

And you will just have to talk to Genius to find out. If you scream enough, then they will do it, immediately.

So I have to restore first, I was gonna back up, but the closest store is in Toronto and my sis needs to go too, we weren't planning on restoring as we'd like music for the ride.

Yeah, my sister has a 2g a month out of warranty and the power button is dented in, making it hard to turn on and off, she's hoping they'll be nice to her!

it's not necessary to restore, considering the hardware faults.

but a restore can include dropping ur music back on to the system

I figured I'll just backup, that will let me keep all my app data, like from vlc right?

It should keep most of your data intact on your computer. Once you get a replacement back, just restore from your previous backup...:D

alright, thanks, the screen isnt lifting up much, but at one corner if your press, the glass will flatten a bit. The power button occaisionally doesnt work though, and is VERY wwiggly! My sister also has a broken power button, and hers is out of warranty so we are hoping for the best! :)
