If you caused the damage, it might, but only if it caused the iPad to stop working I guess.
If you don't have Applecare+ then yup. It's damage that is outside normal wear and tear. Tell the Genius the truth and he might be nice and just give you a new one. They've been known to be nicer to the people who don't give them the run around on how it happened.
Dude. I did the exact same thing to my ipad. Needless to say, I'm babying it now. I didn't get AppleCare... So... Yeah.
How many people read the title of this thread and said yes?
With that type of damage you'll have to pay for any replacement or service done to the iPad - unless AppleCare+ was added to the unit.
More than likely theyll try and help cover it depending on the situation.
