Would wireless charging still work with a case or popsocket?

My wife’s phone surprisingly works just fine with the pop socket. Haven’t tried it with my thicker otterbox and a pop socket, I just assume it won’t work.

I just purchased a Spigen Ring Pop and if placed near the bottom of the case it will charge. It definitely requires a more specific placement on the charger but it does work.

Great news! PopSocket now makes “Pop Tops” designed for wireless charging!!! All but the thinnest section of the base twists off for charging (and you can swap out designs!). I have an iPhone XS with a substantial Speck case and I just applied my bew Pop Top and the phone will now charge with no problem!

I've been curious about this too. I don't have a Popsocket but I do have a Spigen ring on mine. Anybody know if the wireless charging will work with a Ring Holder?

I have a ring on my phone and am able to use a wireless charger. I have the iPhone X, a slim LAUT case and ring. I have the ring about an inch from the bottom. I do have to move it around a bit for it to connect but it works.

I can confirm: my iPhone X wirelessly charges on a Samsung Fast Charge with a slim case, AND Popsocket on (obviously collapsed). I was shocked it works!

pretty sure op socket wont work, but would a regular case be ok for the 8/x?

My iPhone XS will charge with a case and MOST PopSockets. It will not charge when the PopSocket is made of metal or another heavy material (such as the one I have that’s made with abalone shell) Fortunately, the newer PopSockets are switchable and if you take off the top piece, the phone will charge fine with just the attached base. Currently, I am using an Otter+Pop case that has the PopSocket base built in AND is slightly indented so the overall case is still slim with the PopSocket closed.
