Would you be disappointed if the iPhone 5 is under 4"?

Will you be dissapointed if the iPhone 5 has a screen smaller than 4"?

Rumors seem to point to 3.7" which I believe is still too small in the current smartphone market. For me, and this is solely my opinion, 4" is the sweet spot for mobile devices. Looking at pictures of the Samsung Infuse, 4.5" seems too large and the current iPhone screen seems to be too small. Curious what most people want in the iPhone 5.
 
I'm happy with the size of my iPhone 4, and while I have had a droid x. I think its just a little too big.
 
from all ive read it would no longer be "retina" if it was 4"

apple wont go from being the only retina display to copy what others are doing just to add a half inch
 
I'll rather have them reduce the size of the device while keeping the current screen size.

Phone aren't supposed to replace portable computer (god create tablets for that ;) ) so for most uses the small screen is okay.

In a few years we'll probably be able to connect the phones to a display through a docking station so they'll become a sort of mobile computer, but even then I just can't fantom "working" directly on a phone, even with a 4" display and a powerful processor.

Don't mean to sound condescending but it seems like you're the type of person that will like and defend whatever Apple decides to do. 3.5" is fine b/c that's what Apple does now. You wouldn't "be bothered" by 3.7" b/c that's where all the signs point to for the iPhone 5. If Apple released a 4" iPhone I'm sure that would be perfect to you too.

Man, people on here can be so bi***y. Not to speak for the guy, but I think what he's saying is that 0.2" difference in screen size would be barely noticeable so who cares.
 
Apple is a leader and not a follower. They will do it there way and not copy the droids or the world.

You never know, the next iPhone may be the size of a postage stamp....and there would be millions lining up to buy it. :eek:

Amazing how you can judge somebody's character by one post on a forum.

I used an Evo and a Nexus One and had no issues with either size. Does that mean I'm an HTC fanboy as well?

OP, looks like you have some anger issues you need to deal with.

As per screen size goes, my ideal pick would be 3.7" to 4", anywhere within that range. I believe that range will also keep the "Retina Display", so no problem there.

Maybe he's just not hung up on the screen size. I'm pretty much in the same boat: My next phone will be an iPhone because I prefer iOS to any other platform (and, yes, I have also used Android, WinMo, Symbian and WebOS) so it doesn't really matter what size screen it has on it. The only thing I can think that would stop me getting an iPhone would be if they put a 4.5" monstrosity on it

This. Even the current htc 4" (not qHD res, what ever the current is, eg incredible s) looks just as sharp as an iPhone display with much better colours. The galaxy s 2 display looks even better and that's lower res than even the htc displays.

I don't mean to preface this by saying I don't mean to imply that that's a stupid comment and do it anyway, but... I'd be content with anything between 3.5-4". However, anything over that or below that and I would not get it. Just because we're not as bothered by little things doesn't mean we'd be content with anything just because Apple releases it.

But, I'm happy with the current size screen but it would be cool to have a slightly bigger screen!
