The 5S comes in the same version of Space Gray, does it not? I believe the only difference between the two is that the 5S has polished chamfered edges and the SE has matte chamfered edges and an inset stainless steel logo (the 5S' logo is simply polished into the casing).
No!! there is a slight difference in both colors, the SE has a lighter sade compared to the 5S space grey

Would you buy a iPhone 5s now or not ?

No. Why would you not invest in the SE? It makes More sense with the A9 Processor and upgraded battery. The SE will likely be supported longer in OS updates over the 5s.

I owned the SE previously and it was a great iPhone.

How much memory does your 5s have? I'm still using mine and it runs latest software just fine. Right now my only incentive to upgrade is that my 5s is only a 16g and it's not enough for me anymore.

All iPhone 5ses have 1GB of memory. For that reason and the way iOS is going, it is time to look higher up the iPhone food chain.

No I'd get the SE if it was after a small phone. The 5S probably only has one more software update left and it's questionable as to how well it will run iOS 11.

No, but only reason is because I'll have my wife's 5s when she gets the SE. My upgrade is due November where I'll be on the hunt for a 7 :) no rush though as the 5S still has some life in it!

I would buy an SE now (and probably will later in the year, although I'm hoping they'll bump the storage to 128GB at some point).

That said, having had to default back to my wife's battered old 5S after my 6S failed, I've been impressed with how well it still works for most purposes. It's a touch slower than it might be and the storage on mine is too small for me really, but basically it's still a great phone.

Get the SE. The iPhone 5s will probably be supported for 2 more years at most. In addition the SE should last you 4 years more at least. Its worth waiting and saving imo

i use a iPhone 5 for every day use. its functional if that is what you want

... I don't foresee the 5s getting any support beyond iOS 11 if that. The SE is much more future proof which is what you are looking for. Go with the SE.

I wouldn't even buy an iPhone 5s at this point if it was all I could afford. I would buy midrange Android phone instead.

If I wanted the 5s form factor, I would get the SE like many people said.

That's way conservative...the SE (along with the 6s/+) will last 8+ years.

Put a glass protector and case on it, and you'll probably have to only replace the battery years later (barring user damage).

I said it before and I'll say it again...get the SE/6s/6s+ and you'll be set for a decade (if you play it right and if you are willing).

It still has the 3.5mm jack and can charge your phone at the same time. Classic design and features.

Buy one or wish you had (when it gets discontinued).

I bought one for my wife in November because she was an Android user but really wanted an Apple Watch. The idea was she would use it for a few weeks and I would give her my 6 if there were good deals on the 7 black friday. Unfortunately, there were NO good deals on iPhone 7, so I'm still using the 6 and she's using the 5S. As it would happen, she actually really likes the 5S and it more than satisfied with the speed and performance. I paid $112 for the 16GB 5S shipped.

I have an iPhone 5s that I use as a backup and also when traveling. It still works surprisingly well and runs all of my apps fine, just slower than my 6s. The biggest thing that's noticeable is the 1GB of RAM, which causes some lag here and there. It works fine for my use but I wouldn't buy one right now. if I were looking to buy that size I'd buy an SE like others have mentioned.

Actually, I did recently buy an SE for my wife. She tried to use the 6s for almost a year but just got so tired of using it because of its size. She has small hands and used our 5s while traveling a few weeks ago and remembered how much she liked that size of iPhone. So I got her a new SE and sold the 6s almost $600.
