I like Swappa alot. I've bought and sold there for years and never had any problems.

I’ve bought from swappa. They use PayPal and paypal overwhelming sides with the buyer. Never had issues with that service.Do you think that's safe? Why would someone be selling a brand new phone on there? What issues could one expect? Are phones from some carriers like Verizon more safe to purchase? Better to just pay full price from Apple or the carrier themselves?
From what I can see the same rules for eBay apply to Swappa. Just read everything carefully. I've sold on both and I've learned to get insurance as well as delivery confirmation on every sale. It makes shipping like $18 sometimes BUT it's piece of mind in case something goes wrong.

I honestly hate how swappa is now, the majority of sellers now are shops that sell used phones. Back then that wasn’t the case.I know someone who recently bought an iPhone XS on Swappa but the seller shipped a store Demo Unit "Not For Resale"! She is getting a refund but wow avoid seller selling Sprint XS's from Chesterfield MO... they keep changing their name it was something else a couple days ago but they have many listings for Sprint XS! I've personally never had a problem selling on Swappa but haven't bought a device yet.

Why does that bother you? Isn't the point to buy a used phone? Seems like a used phone business ("business sellers" on Swappa) has more to lose than individuals trying to scam people, so that should keep things above board more often than not.I honestly hate how swappa is now, the majority of sellers now are shops that sell used phones. I don’t know why it’s like that now, I don’t want to buy anything from a used phone shop.

On the Sprint Mint XS listing, there were two listings as business sellers and the other dozen plus were individuals (many were from the same person, a scammer who sold a Demo Unit phone in violation of the terms of service) so it wasn't the majority in that case.
Swappa has a lot of safeguards in place. I still wouldn't buy new from them personally. I mean why are you buying a new phone just to sell it??
