Yes, I would (and did)...

You can always wait for the next latest and greatest, but if you do, you will always be waiting.

While I purchased a new 17" PowerBook, I know that it will shortly be outdated. In fact, anything for sale in IT is outdated the moment it arrives in the store. The R&D labs will always have something new to hit the shelves before you know it.

Get what you need now and enjoy it. Purchase something new down the road when you need it.

Most likely with enough RAM and disk defragmentation, it will be a while unless your needs totally change.

i did and i love it to death. Its a solid machine. I have had some track pad issues here and there but the palm reset always seems to take care of it. the scrolling is amazing and I prefer it to a mouse. 8x dvd burning speaks for itself. I just put doom on this machine and although it is on the low settings it runs quite well (of course I have the ultimate 15" so thats a bit different than the 12"). And the ping noise is supposedly only on the 100gb and is a property of the drive functioning correctly but i havent heard a peep myself. Some people are anal

Same issue for me but a little too late now

I recently ordered a PB 15" and it was just awhile ago that i read about the release date of the tiger OS :( So do you guys think apple will push through w/ the release on the 15th and include it in the PB by then?
