All iPads Would you buy an Apple designed E-Ink reader?

Not entirely. Only for books that require DRM. iBooks will happily display any non-DRM'd epub-format file. Kobo will too. Kindle won't, unless you run it through a file converter first. Also, if what you want to read is more complex than a novel, the Kindle won't work as well. (This is a drawback of e-ink devices generally--less good handling of graphics and complex formatting. Maybe someday there will be good color e-ink.).

I chose to remain with the kindle because most of the books I wanted are not available in iBooks. I own a Kindle Paperwhite and am very happy with it. An e-ink reader from Apple would have to bring something vastly superior to the table for me to make the switch.

This is why iPod was so successful. It didn't punish people for using non-DRM music.

I wish the iPad mini was readable outdoors. I like reading at my local parks, even coffee shop patios.

I'll probably get a Kindle, but they're a bit on the ugly side. Maybe a Nook.

Yeah! I dream ever so often of a low cost eInk airplay device. I don’t need another powerhorse device, just a light weight Airplay clone display. The tablet display could link to a iPhone, Apple Table, or lap/desktop computer.

Not only would it be great for outside viewing, but it would be excellent for reading at night, allowing readers or work to be done without the sleep disturbance of blue light.

No. I stopped using my Paperwhite in favor of the 10.5 iPP, where Kindle is my most-used app.

No. With TruTone and the available apps, I will find it unnecessary. Worst case scenario...for the outdoors, I may use a matte screen protector.

No. I rarely read outside or eBooks anyway.
