i don't see any need for 3rd party apps really. Just what was demoed was amazing enough and covers all the bases. hell I paid the same price for my damn ipod photo 2 years ago and that thing doesnt even have a quarter of the functionality and coolness... tho a previous post about the lack of vibration feature does bother me as i've never used a ringtone in my life and find them obnoxious:confused:

Third party app i would like: Adium

Also VoIP would be nice :D

The phone won't be in Aus until 2008 anyway, add that to no 3g (HSDPA support), no GPS, what looks to be limited 3rd party app support, and a crap camera (if you're going to bother with a camera I'd at least like a decent one and a flash)

I prefer the fact that the camera isn't very good. Then again i'm an artistic photographer anyway and appreciate what a bad camera can do for me.

However...

If you really need a camera, go and buy one.

I got the impression with the one ring tone they demo'd, that they have put some thought into its ring tones.

I think 'stock state' would be more accurate than 'present state'. Anyway, if there were no alternatives, I'd still get the iPhone with only stock apps, but one of the iPhone's main advantages is the quality and quantity of third-party apps.

This thread is a little pointless, in my opinion. I couldn't dream of a smartphone world without all those awesome third-party apps that are out there today.
