Just curious. If the future iPhone offered a larger size with a 5.3" screen and had a digitizer pen that worked great for certain apps, would you consider it?

Absolutely not. 5.3" is a tablet to me. Actually, I wouldn't even consider getting anything larger than a 4.3" screen.

thing is initially i would say no as 5 inches is too big for a screen imo, however Apple would make me want to get it regardless.

NOPE! Too big and the stylus for me is just an aggravation! I used one for a few years with an old Palm and never liked it.

A 5.3" device is going to be way too big for one handed use no matter what. Even the 4.3" Android devices are too large for me to use one handed. This is an important consideration for me.

No matter what? Except for not everyone has the same size hands. Now, if you put "for me" along with your first sentence, that's fine.

No, that size screen is too big, even 4" screens are too big for me. In my opinion 5.3" is a useless size since it's too big to easily fit in your pocket, and it's too small to have the advantages of an iPad size screen.

Well, your 'opinion' has been proven wrong and there is plenty of video evidence to show.

i'd consider it, depends how much of the device is actually screen (small bezel and chin please) and how narrow they make it.

IMO 4.7" is the biggest I can handle with 1 hand.

Anything below 4.3" is small.

A digitizer pen is not something Apple wants you to use with a telephone.

I forgot 'smart phones' were simply telephones. Do you do nothing but make phone calls with your iPhone? Played w/a Note yesterday, the s-pen is a pretty nifty tool...and it's not like you HAVE to use it for everything and it's hidden away within the phone when not in use.

may as well buy an iPad if you want that size screen. It would be cheaper to buy an iPad lol. iPhone is about $800 current screen. iPad is much cheaper lol

Should just buy an iPad? 5.3" = 9.7"? Please let us know where you got your edjumacation so I can be sure to avoid that area. Hyperbole doesn't make a weak argument strong.

Absolutely. I'm currently thinking about ditching my iPhone for the Galaxy Note, which is 5.3". The first time I saw the specs I thought it was too big. The first time I saw it in person I thought it was too big.

After about 15 minutes playing around with the demo model at the AT&T Store I began to change my mind. The extra screen size is nice and it isn't' too big for one handed operation (at least not for me). One of the employees at the AT&T Store had one she was using personally and let me see how it fit in my pocket and that caused no problem either.

My point here is that while the thought of a phone that big seems to be completely outrageous for some, there is a (significant) market for it. It is not one size fits all by any means, but there is a place for it in the smartphone market.

I got my education from an area that says a cheaper product with a bigger screen and runs faster from the same company that runs the same OS is better. Do you want the address and phone number?

Glad I have an admirer :)

But none of what you just said addresses my point. 5.3" isn't "might as well just buy a tablet" territory. Unless you have hands the size of the guy in the Burger King ads.

Now, I did just get my hands on a Note for the first time yesterday. It would probably be a bit large for me to enjoy using on a daily basis, but that doesn't mean that is true for everyone...as several on here have said themselves...and I don't have the numbers, but I'm sure at least a few folks have purchased the device worldwide.

And saying anything is "better" when it comes to a smartphone is purely subjective. You may be able to definitively say one is better than another at specific tasks...but overall? Well, that will always be in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone has the same needs and wants.

Really? No "that's what she said" yet? Huh.

lol

Thank you.

I find it funny that everyone says there is no way they want a phone bigger than the current size....and when apple release something bigger they will suddenly forget everything they said and wanted and preach that the current 4.5" (whatever the future will bring) will be the bestest phone ever!

I'd consider it. This is how I voted. A 5.3" screen is definitely on the large size, however, I can be sold on design alone. If the design attracts me where I loose sleep, I would buy it without another thought.

I would have to test it out for a good month to see if it would add any significant value to me without the phone being too big.

At first thought though, I would not buy it due to the size. Over 5 inches just seems too large for a mobile phone.
