Here(-ish)
Many people seem to prefer the craftsmanship and materials of the iPhone 4 Series and iPhone 5 series. However, the current size and thinness is preferable, IMO. What if Apple combined the best of both models?

Would you be interested in seeing/buying an iPhone with the current thinness and size, but with flat, squared edges? I feel that it would be less susceptible to dropping and would fit cases more snugly.

Thoughts?

Yes, if only because that would solve the tempered glass screen protector problems that have existed since the original 6 series came out.

I don't like the design of the current phone as much as I liked the 5/5s. Although....I wonder if the sharper sides would make the Plus too unwieldy.

Agreed! Although the 5 shell was beautiful (though my personal favourite was the 4), it'd look like a bit of a beastly brick in when amped up to the 4.7"/5.5" form factor. Unless it was paper-thin, of course, in which case the battery would suck and we'd be sniffing goodbye to our headphone jack.

I suspect that will be going the way of the 3.5" disk and CD-ROM regardless of form factor.

Returned to the iPhone 5s because of its appearance, and easy to pocket.

Me too! I really dislike the design of the 6. I feel apple wanted to throw the whole curved glass into the design, but it just makes the bezel look larger, and I don't like it :[ I actually still really like the design of the original iPad the most because of those flat edges.

EDIT:
To answer the question, in a heartbeat. Im actually at a point where Im falling out of getting the latest and greatest of the iPhone, mainly because I don't like the design anymore. They will need to start providing me real good reasons to upgrade, but this design would definitely be one.

Most tempered glass protectors have a "halo" effect on 6(S)'s bc of a slight screen curvature. They don't adhere properly on the edges.

That's why the good ones cost $25-$40 I guess. Still seems pretty steep for something that's almost meant to be broken IMO.

I've cracked or smashed corners from drops on 3 protectors so far - they've done their job well but their unit price was only $2.

Lots of discussion in Accessories subforum.
