I think Apple are at a bit of a 'stalemate' in terms of design at the moment. Everybody seems to moan about the slippery (agreed) and curved design of the 6/6+ but realistically I think a 4/5 style in that size would be horrific. What's really needed is some kind of happy medium and I think that's what we'll get... and then people can moan about that for 2 years.

I agree that a 5/5s design would look terrible in the size of the 6 Plus. I think they will go with a happy medium and do curved glass (a feature that I like) with a chamfered edge on the back.

I am interested to see where they take it. No doubt design leaks will be out of control this year with Apple presumably taking a new exterior asthetic.

Functionally I think the next design needs to change somehow to be less "slippery". The current version has some ergonomic issues for sure.

Curved glass on the front then the back is flat with a chamfered edge
