Just wondering if anybody would buy this template/Rapidweaver theme. I would make it all the colours of the bow to please anyone. BTW: feedback please! The red lines are for copy protection too.

EDIT: the navigation would go in the sidebar thing

I find it quite annoying to read with the red lines. Doh!

O well, finally got to use strikethrough.

I wouldn't pay money for that, I'd prefer to do my own.

It's ok, but I certainly wouldn't pay money for it. You can make something like that relatively easily.

    I'd say no. It's a simple design.

I think I'd sort of prefer the nav space/sidebar to be just as long as necessary or extending all the way to the bottom of the page, instead of where it is now. As well as dynamic to "open up" menus to display submenus and options.

I mean for someone who isn't a code monkey or someone that uses things like rapidweaver.

well you asked for feedback

mine was a bit over the top, given that i knew this was for rapidweaver...but I still feel some of my reply still applies.

Shut up. You obvioulsy know nothing about copyright infringment.

Torminated, I think that it is a nice simple design. I like the nav bar along the side.

The only thing I don't like is the colour, but that is a personal thing - not into brown much!

As for paying for it. If you can generate enough visits to your page, then yes, I think there would be many newbies to web creation that would consider your template for purchase.

While that may apply to content, it doesn't so much apply to design.

Besides, given how simple it is...

although that's a 1 minute photoshop job. not even close to a rapidweaver template. just saying. i suppose people would pay for the template..

Personally I'd like it a bit more if it was left-aligned with the sidebar on the left, but that's just me ;)

    Whoa.

There is infringement and then there is this.

he is thinking of selling a file, some code, a template, a theme.

what he posted was a photo of this file, code, theme, running.

you cant steal it this way.

    so, whoa, take a pill.

You'd rarely sell something that simple. In terms of selling and templates, I find more complicated ones are the ones usu. up for sale.

If you want to sell something simple, it'd have to be a custom job, IMO.

The template is okay, but it's not anything I would ever download and use, much less buy. Why? Colors for one thing. But also it just doesn't look practical. Why is that side bar and top one too so fat?

And here was thinking our last run in would be the last.

There are many ways of 'stealing' someone else's creations. Don't be so arrogant.

    you said copyright infringement.

    not stealing.

they are not one in the same.

and if he posted a pic of his design, then he must surely know that the internets now have it. but i sincerely doubt we are going to see websites popping up, "stealing" this design.

EDIT: you cant steal this, nor can you infringe upon it. case closed, though why it was opened, I will never know.

Quit arguing for the sake of it, please.

In this case, copyright infringement is a form of theft (i.e. stealing).

As for your last point, well, there really is no answer to that.

Which is irrelevant to the argument because unless it's the content (that is also copyrighted) that's being stolen, people can steal the design all they want, and it is NOT copyright infringement. It is simple theft, but there is nothing that can be done about it. There's only so much obfuscation of HTML one can do, and even that is absolutely worthless if anyone with a trivial amount of web design experience feels like copying it.

Which is why you see big corporations rip each other's websites all they want - e.g. AOL and Yahoo.

I second this idea, I heart OSWD.

Look, it's atrocious. The color and the layout. It reminds me of beer and cigarettes. Think classy, not trashy.

    In a word... no.

Take a look at what your up against when it comes to templates and you'll realize you need a lot more than this.

Hey its not that bad. By our modern tastes it might not be that great, but fix up the colors, and I guarantee you some people will like it.
