Would You Ever Switch To Android?

I'm actually about to make the switch from Android to Apple. Primarily because of Apple's wearables (watch and airpods pro).

iOS14 bringing in PiP/widgets/app drawer sealed the deal for me.

Heck I'd never go android.

I'm no Apple fan, I just like iPhones software.

Work recently forced me to discontinue using my iPhone and gave me and android. Hate it. Software is no where near as good an experience.

Off topic, I have a MacBook Pro. I haven’t had much luck with the last 3 MacBooks I’ve owned. I’ve always had some problem with them. So my next laptop I’d consider switching to a PC. That will probably be step 1 of getting out of Apples ecosystem lol

Getting sick of Apples horrendous quality control. I bought a $400 Samsung A71 to play play around with. I'll make my decision soon. The only Apple products i use now is an iPhone & Airpods so if i switch it'll be pretty damn easy.
Yes, very easy. Recently released wireless buds on the Android side have received many reviews saying they are better (and less expensive) than Airpods. Keen to hear what you think of the A71 as I have never tried the A series.

I switched to Android, with pleasure. I'm a long-time Mac OS user (7100, G4, Intel) and figuring out how to move files between my iPhone 6 and an Intel Mac was a nuisance. After I "upgraded" my iPhone 6 to a newer OS -- I held out for over a year, ignoring regular update announcements -- it could no longer communicate with my "desktop" Mac running Mountain Lion (10.8).
After getting a cheap Android phone (Moto G6), it was amazing to see how easily I could move files on and off of my phone. Plug it into my Mac with a simple USB cable using Mountain Lion or High Sierra (dual boot), start Android File Transfer, and there was a Finder-like window showing me every folder and file on my Android phone; file size, date of creation, total storage space remaining. Drag files on and off of the phone, create new folders... just like an old-time Mac user would expect. Music, movies, PDFs, images, screen captures... a breeze. Command-Delete files off the phone. No wrestling with iTunes and incompatibility messages when I attempted to connect two products both made by Apple.
Now I have a Moto G Power and connect under Mountain Lion or Mohave (still dual boot) and it's fast and simple, that is, Mac-like.
Man, when I read this I came to tears thinking of struggling with iTunes, waiting minutes to synchronize 5 new photos to my iPhone abd all that with a iMac 27" and a 11pro. Why on earth is Apple making it so complicated? Horrible.

Isn’t AirDrop the solution to all of this now though? It works far better than any similar solution on Android/Windows and without any wires. I haven’t used iTunes to sync anything in years.

I moved from android to IPhone recently.

Has been on android since ip4s days. Last couple of years with Huawei (see the moon?) but without GMS, it took a toll on my experience before I decided to Switch back to Apple since my wifey is seeing iPhone 11pro Max.

Got a pair and happy with it.

I've been using iPhones since 2014 and before that had Windows Mobile and flip phones.

I'm on the iPhone Upgrade Program and currently have the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Back in March I bought an Galaxy S20+ because I've always wanted to try an Android phone.

I must say that I use the S20+ a lot more than my iPhone 11Pro Max. I think overall I like the iOS operating system more than Android but certain thing about the S20+ are much better. I really like the bottom swipe back function a lot. Almost can't stand using iPhone anymore because it doesn't have back function.

The overall size of the phones is about the same but the iPhone 11 Pro Max weighs a ton compared to the S20+. I can't stand the weight of the iPhone anymore and it is is very noticeable now.

Another thing I like is the screen that fills up the front of the phone without the huge bezels and notch like iPhone. I'm not a huge fan of the hole punch camera but it's not as noticeable as the notch.

Interesting that you say "too deep", implying that you are in deeper than you want to be. No time like the present to start clawing your way to the surface :)

To be honest, I have an Samsung S7 Edge and not to bash any company but I was using a iPhone 6s more because of how slow the S7 was with apps

This made it even more obvious that I should stick with Apple products..

Would you ever switch to Android?
I have a Samsung 8+ and it was my first foray into Android (cellphone as I already used it with Nvidia Shield TV) and Samsung. My main reason was I got frustrated about the limitations of Apple for costuming the screens. The most obvious was that I prefer less icons on the screen and a bit larger to suit my vision. People were kind enough to mention accessibility for the iPhone. To be honest I didn't want a lame work around for something that was such an easy fix for Apple at the time. Allow the screen icons to be in at least 2 sizes and adjustable text below to match. You might like 12 icons and I make prefer 6 etc. When I got over to Samsung, I grabbed an app the same day and set it up instantly. All went well and haven't looked back. I do miss some quasi eco facets of iPhone with other Apple products but in that case I don't mind a work around and have continued this path until now. I'll review Apple's offering and see if they finally realize not everyone likes to put on their glasses just to read a menu and icon screens. Android has the advantage on this one.

I was all set on the 12 Pro this year as I swap phones every year due to boredom but the recent leaks show the 12 Pro to be a tiny upgrade over my 11 pro.

5.8" vs 6.1"

New frame design after 6 years of the same old design

No pro motion display and I don't care about 5G

The iPhone 12 Pro really needs something to prove it's worth the high price and Pro name this year over the 12 and 12 Plus IMO.

I am half tempted to get the Pixel 5 with it's Touch ID, 4000mah battery, 90hz OLED display, 15W wireless charging, 5w reverse wireless charge, 8GB RAM and no notch.

Of course the iPhone will be a more premium build but a lot of those Pixel 5 features are "PRO" features to me, and it'll cost half the 12 Pro at $599-649.

Never. I've had the Samsung galaxy s4 and s5 back then but after that I hated android. I have my ecosystem built entirely into the Apple System.

I got back and fourth. I love androids display and the fact that it works better with my vehicle Bluetooth. Apple has a much better battery life and iMessage is second to none. I can send picture and videos easily whereas android you can’t do that. However android fast charge is a lot better. So in my opinion both are great phones. It’s just user preference and what you’re looking for out of a phone.

My Samsung TV that I bought last November has the AppleTV+ app where I can access my movies without needing an actual AppleTV. That's pretty cool.

Does Apple have AppleTV+ app on Android yet? I think on Apple's website it said you could access it via web browser so that's one work around at the moment if anyone ever wanted to switch to android. Or if they ever make an app for android.
