Hi there im new to mac and the mac app store as a developer,

i was wondering if you would be interested in my idea for an application?

the app would be a market research app.

the idea is that the program will present a simple (noob friendly) UI that has simple + and - buttons to add fields. these fields can be simple text fields or multi option or selection ect. You would also be able to add compony branding at the top in the pro version. Then the application will create the questionnaire from within the application and you can easily email (or mybe even text) the the questions (in a sort of non editable file) to an email address or a large list of imported emails.
The person receiving the questionnaire would receive the email and be able to fill in the questionnaire in sort of dedicated text boxes, tick boxes or radial selection thingys ( you will find out why in a second). the person would then be able to email the file back and the person sending the questionnaire would be able to drag it into the analysis window where the app would move it to a folder for storage.
once all the questionnaires have been returned and dropped into the window you can analyse them (because the text was entered into boxes) and the application will be able to provide tables, graphs, and reports on information like which words are popular in responses.
the graphs can then be exported to pages/numbers/keynote/ect.

perhaps in the pro version an option to save as a HTML so the questionnaire can be put on the internet and can easily be accessed by everyone to fill and then when the app is opened it downloads online responses to the storage folder for analysing.

do you like the idea?

if you do what kind of fields would you like to see available and what kind of filetype could be used to send the questionnaires?

What are you offering that they don't?

a simple easy to use interface for a small price available on the mac appstore.

and the ability to send surveys as emails as well as online?

its just an idea at the moment... thats y im asking :p

Youll find most people who do this use SurveyMonkey (as it runs on anything under the sun with a web browser pretty much), so wont pay. (Remember: Developers are here to do only what hasnt been done, or what could be done better).

Good luck with your app ... my guess is that most successful apps do not start from a computer forum.

1) If the app idea was a good one that was going to make a fortune, one of us would've opened XCode and developed it by now
2) In response to your above post, you aren't really, since SurveyMonkey does everything your app does, will be very hard to improve on if its your first app, so in effect your doing what has been done before in a slightly different format, but not with any significant new features.

No offense to the OP, I'm not seeing this idea catching on.

As others stated setting up and using surveymonkey is a lot easier.

Asking someone to run an app, to do a survey and then re-email that back is a lot of work for no benefit. The results are no one will be willing to do it, never mind willing to buy the app to do that.

As others stated successful applications are either doing something new or improve a process. Unfortunately this idea increases the workload not decreases it. Plus you'll be competing with a free service, what justification would there be to buy an app instead of using a free service.

Also why have a pro option that goes to the internet when again suverymonkey is already there.

The attchement, what format will it be in, an executable or html? If an executable will it run on windows? Most people who need surveys do so in in the work environment where there's almost no Macs.
