Other Would you still be waiting for iPhone 13 if it is going portless and has no Touch ID?

For those who are on the fence on upgrading to the iPhone 12, would you still wait for iPhone 13 if the entire range is going portless and there are still no Touch ID on the phones?

New iPhone 13 rumor claims there is no in-display Touch ID sensor

If the latest rumor is true, then at least one iPhone 13 has been completed already. Obviously, the hardware will go through a few changes until the final product will reach the market, but it looks like Apple has decided to drop the in-display Touch ID sensor — at least for now.

In all fairness, I think we are a couple of years from seeing anything like this. I doubt Apple would go portless already. Personally I love FaceID - sure, it would be easier with TouchID in these corona times, but they will end eventually. I hope Apple would integrate the TouchID from the new iPad Air into the power button.

I upgraded to the new 12 series, and I think people shouldn't wait to something based on rumors but upgrade if they have the money and the need or it

I think it is too early to get caught up on next year’s rumors. Buy what you need and want today. Worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

Now that phones are waterproof, I don't get the idea of going portless.

Having a port makes diagnostics, restoring firmware, etc much easier. If the idea is to be similar to a Mac and have some kind of recovery mode on the phone you can access to do firmware restorations and whatnot, then maybe it makes a bit more sense to go without a port.

Touch ID needed to be squeezed in somehow this year, not next, although I would still welcome it. Not sure about portless yet.
