Ever since playing with the iPad, I've always felt restricted with the iPhone only displaying the home screen in portrait mode. I know it is more suitable for that size display, but I think it would be cool when using it as a media device.

Does anyone think it will ever become available in the future on the iPhone? And would it be possible for a jailbreak feature to do this (first time iPhone user)?

There is a jailbreak app that will rotate your home screen called SBRotator. I do wish Apple would build this in though.

I wouldn't mind the home screen being able to be in landscape mode. Would really help when using the iPhone as a GPS in my car.

I always thought it would be nice if all the icons stayed in the same place and just rotated 90-degrees so I could use the main page in landscape. I know there is more involved with that now (folders and multitasking to name a couple), but it seems like it should be possible somehow.
