bought my 128gb 6S just this past July. I have babied this phone. It's immaculate. I did just barely notice, however, the top edge had a bit of a dark "fade" in the title bar area, and there appears to be one dead pixel in the middle of the signal dots/bars.

Those of you who have replaced things under warranty, do you think it's worth the trouble? Do you think they'd do anything about it, since it isn't very prominent?

Apple should honour their warranty on this, unless they see any damage to the housing. I would certainly bring it to the Apple Store. I'm more concerned about the dark fade...that could point to a backlight issue, either because of a damaged screen or something on the logic board. Either way, Apple will try a replacement screen to see if it helps. Make sure you have a backup of your data before going though, because if they have to swap the device, they will not move your data over.

You should post a picture of this fade.

I don't know if it's pronounced enough to capture on camera, but is is noticeable if, say, I'm using the phone in landscape and that whole edge is white.

Bring it to the Apple Store. Got mine changed for free because of a dead pixel. Phone had been bought 4 months ago with no Apple care subscription.

I've had an iPad exchanged for a dead pixel, and my wife had her screen replaced at the Apple Store on her iPhone SE because of a dead pixel. If it were me, I'd take it in and politely let them know that this bothered me.

The local Apple authorized service center told me they didn't think it was bad enough for them to file a claim or anything. The nearest actual Apple store is four hours from me, so I'll probably have to wait until school is over before pursuing this further. At least my warranty doesn't expire until July.

I would call Apple. I wouldn't expect an authorized service center to do anything to help you, but Apple will. How it works is, Apple will send you a box after you call apple care. You ship the phone, they fix it, and return it. It's a fairly easy process, but even in store we had no problems getting our issue resolved. The pixel on my wife's SE was near the edge and nowhere near the middle of the screen. She was fine with it but we happened to be near an Apple store one day and she decided she'd take it in. An hour later she had a new screen.

Unfortunately I use my phone for quite a lot daily so shipping it in isn't an option. I'll have access to an Apple store around January so I'll swing by then and keep an eye on it in the meantime.

I would definitely call Apple as soon as possible. Don't want to risk dropping the phone or causing other damage that might prevent them from taking care of this by the time you are able to contact them.
