My Note 9 has a 6.4” OLED. Display with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 that’s 516 PPI

Our new 11” iPad Pro has a resolution of 2388 x 1668 that’s 264 PPI

Does that bother anyone else ?

Would a higher pixel density help Artists ? Do we need it ?

Would a 4K Display make sense other than burning down the battery ?

I for one say it is not necessary I can’t see pixels on either display.

Now it bothers me. I read a lot in the iPad and this generation i’m missing more sharpness in the display. Maybe in 2020

I NEED A 10K Display ASAP! Can't stand this pixelated mess of a screen!
No, but seriously: Why would you need a higher resolution if the screen is clear and sharp anyway?

I can easily see pixels at less than 300 PPI. Lots of people can. Different people see differently. Those who can't see so well can consider themselves lucky, they can be happy with cheap screens.

Higher density would cost a LOT with such a huge screen.

I'm also have Note 9, and i'm easily see pixels on my 10.5 pro with same ppi level like new ipad pros..

I'm also think ipad pros ips lcd screen with 120hz is gorgeous.. But resolution wise i'm expected better from apple.. Because i'm heavy pdf user.

Apple; If we dont benefit from raw power of new ipad pros why wouldnt you bring us new extra high resolution display. At least, that billions of billions transistor deal with extra millions of pixels instead of just being there for nothing...

No, the iPad Pro's screen is amazing as it is. More pixels would drain the battery faster and the visual improvement would be marginal.

At normal viewing distances I don’t think (m)any people could tell if the iPad had more pixel density or not (if they come out with a better screen). Rene Richards has a good video on this. DPI isn’t the only thing that makes a great screen.

I think Apple will have iPads in the future with higher density pixels, but it will require the technology to catch up (cost and power savings for the larger display in such a small enclosure). When they do, they will tout it. And when you look critically, close up and from angles, you’ll notice it. In everyday use for most people? Nah, the screen is awesome now.

As long as the specs can handle it, I would love to see an UHD HDR10 screen (16:9) for the 12.9 version.
But not during the first couple of years as I just bought this year's version :D

Alex is also paid by Samsung, has been for years. But I would welcome increased resolution, but the display is great currently.

Same here, My 9.7” Pro lasted a good 2 years. I would have kept it and skipped the 11” since there are no new Features I am getting.
My 11” Pro will last I hope 1 year past the first OLED iPad definitely Do Not want the first Gen OLED iPad Pro.
