Been trying to sell my perfect shape White iPhone 5/32G (box and all accessories) for several days and the only bites are low-ballers. I'm asking $450 and I keep getting people who are offering between $200-$300. This is the first time I've had any trouble selling my old iPhone. What gives?

Two new iPhones are coming out on Friday. People that don't want to upgrade to the new ones are looking for the older models. They want to get an older model on the cheap.

/explained.

Supply vs Demand.

As the iPhone becomes more and more popular (everytime I hear the words "This is has been the best selling iPhone ever!" I cringe) the more competition you have to sell it.

iPhone 5s (plural, not the new phone) are still available and for pretty cheap through retailers.

I called a local walmart today, and they are still getting shipments of the 5.

Keep at it. I had my 32gb for a couple of weeks and only one email with a $300 offer. Last weekend for some reason I got like a dozen emails and ended up selling it for $450. Since the iphone has been all over the news you might try to get $400 and call it a day, but once the 5C goes mainstream I think that will tank the 5 value as people would rather have a "new" iphone, even though it's the same exact thing in a plastic case.

The 5C will cannibalize any resell at high margins of an old iPhone 5.
I think $399 might get you real bites.

Taking me 1.5 weeks to sel this 32gb iPhone 5 unlocked with box and un used accessories on Craigslist. I never had this much time selling before.

Usually I list for an aggressive price and unload it. Listed it for $460 and got low ball offers.

Finally going to meet a buyer for $430 this afternoon.

Listed my iPhone 5 32gb ATT model on craigslist for $575. Got offered $450. Should have taken it. Now as the days pass I can't even get $450 anymore...

doesn't really explain it since there has always been a $100, year-old iPhone available. The point for someone to buy a phone off craigslist is to do so without renewing their contract and not having to pay the full unsubsidized price.

Not a good time to be selling... Should sell at least one month before the announcement, or sometime after

I sold my iphone 4 for $200 2 days ago on craigslist so keep trying. It took about 2 weeks.

I was wondering why my iphone was taking so long to sell and I started looking at the other listings and noticed all of these posts by dealers flooding the cell phone category. Be persistent and patient.

You will find a buyer for sure there are people looking for iphone 5, because they don't want the plastic 5 ( 5C ) :D Just wait for a few days :)

people want to buy cheap and don't are stupid.... why spend 400 for a 1 year old iPhone 5 when you can get iPhone 5c for 500 brand new?

I'm just gonna take my $150 trade-in at Best Buy and be done with it, if I decide to get a new phone.

That's at least $50 less that I could get elsewhere, but I don't need to deal with shipping, meeting some sketchy guy somewhere, or giving Amazon or eBay a cut.

I got a 64GB for $450 and I am one of the cheapest people on the planet. For me at least, I would pay $400 for a 32GB and $350 for a 16GB.

The time to sell your iPhone was just before he heavily rumored and right on target announcement. The time now to sell your phone would likely be in another month or so when you get the people who figure the 5 is still a great value and they're willing to spend some cash.
