I must say that craigslist is quite worth looking into if you want to save money. After searching daily for about a week, I picked up a used (but in practically new condition) 64gb iPad 3 with a leather smart cover for 500 firm. It didn't have a box, but it wasn't stolen or anything (checked the serial number). Guy said he needed to make his car payment and needed the money bad. If you don't believe any of this you don't have to, but I'm happy with my purchase:)

Nice catch! You can find good deals sometimes, you just have to be careful and use common sense when meeting up with people. :)

Not surprising... there is a story going around of a man that started with just a netbook and through Craigslist trading and selling, he ended up with his dream car... don't remember which car it was, but from a netbook to a car without putting more money in is a great jump.

^ got a link so that story?

And I also got my iPad 3rd gen 64gig on CL. Got it for $640 about 2 weeks after it came out which was a deal back then. Guy had receipt and everything for it.

There's a show called Barter Kings (discovery channel?) that trade little items for bigger ones using Craig's List.

Yes indeed you could get a good deal there. My iPad 3 16gb, with case and bt keyboard cost me $350. My 64 gb brand new iPod touch cost me $160. I buy on Craigslist and sell on eBay all the time.

Craigslist is really good for some deals around where I live. I live right in between Mohegan sun, and Foxwoods casino. Lots of gambling addicts who will sell things they win for very cheap.

That show feels scripted. I'm not alluding that their business model is not working for them, but for the TV show, it's odd that they get everything they say they'll end up with every time.

I always sell successfully on CL in my area but i would never buy because i dont buy used computer-electronics stuff.

It seems like the resale values for the iPad 3 is lower than it was this time last year for the iPad 2. Perhaps that's because of more supply?

I usually don't, but i wasnt going to pay $500 for a new iPad 3, not worth it for me. $350 for a slightly used one was more like it for me. If someone is selling a week old iPod touch 64gb for $160, I have to bite and resell on eBay for twice as much, or trade it in at GameStop for an instant $60 profit.

selling on CL

I sold a lot of stuff on CL, including 3 ipads, a few MBAs and others. Much cheaper than ebay, I hope CL puts ebay out of business.

I also remember someone starting with a paper lip and trading up to a house. Crazy

I've found some good deals on used sites. Picked up a sealed 2012 MBP 13" for $900 yesterday and everything checked out (S/N). Kid bought it with educational discount and kept the $100 card. It was purchased about 3 weeks ago so he couldn't return it.

I have a feeling his parents don't know. Good thing I used my fake email.

What site was that?
