I don't condone that behavior either. Warranties are for material defects that the owner is not responsible for. Best course of action is to get a case, and be more careful in the future.

applecare + gives you 2 accidental damage claims for a reason!

I'd toss it. The phone is ruined.

Everyone will know, you will know, what's the point in carrying on? No one would use it with that much damage, let alone buy it!

Take it to BestBuy and they might not even charge you to recycle it. If they do, it'll be minimal, and you'll be rid of that abomination.

Yay,

Yet another "I don't need a case or AppleCare+ because I've had iPhones for years and never dropped any of them, but now I've dropped my new one and need AppleCare+ &/or a case" thread.

Lol. Many of them.

It fell through the couch because it was so thin

At least it only has one mark on the bottom left edge of the phone ####

Literally did the exact same thing. Wouldn't have happened if Apple stocked enough cases. I was at an Apple store to buy a case, didn't have them and that night it fell between my couch onto tile and dented my corner slightly.

Magnificent.

Blaming Apple for you being clumsy with your phone.

I know, I am being a little ridiculous..I was just frustrated. I ordered three cases on Amazon Prime, none of them came on time. Drove to 45 minutes to an Apple store and all they had was one of the ugly colored apple cases.

Otter box defender. My ip5 is still in pristine condition with nary a scratch nor a ding after two years incased.

I work in an underground shaft mine and one of our mechanics dropped his otter box wrapped ip4 down the shaft from 16 level to the bottom. Approx. 2100 feet. When the shaft crew found it two weeks later, it had a cracked corner on the screen but worked perfectly.

My ip6 went directly into an otter box defender before leaving the store, and there it shall stay so long as we are together.

Didn't go with a case for the 5S but bought the leather case for the 6 and feel that will help to keep it great looking for the year until the 7 comes out:D. Falls happen and the sides of the 5S show it for sure.

thats not that bad at all man.
the first gash is good anyway as now youre allowed to not baby your phone and just start enjoying it.

I personally do not use cases, I like the experience of holding an iPhone as designed. However, I wouldn't make a post about a scratch. They're going to happen.

OP: Sounds like the phone was bought for you and all that, so treat it accordingly. In other words, don't baby it. Seems like another isn't tough to come by.
OP, how old are you? I sense that you are young. You'll learn there is much, much more to life than having a pristine piece of tech

Interesting comment coming from you. ;)
