Wow, after that keynote I am totally let down by Apple for the last time. We were told last year that a refresh was supposed to be for iOS 12 but was pushed to iOS 13 to make room for performance improvements. Now that the keynote is over and the big takeaway is freaking Dark Mode, like that was the most requested item. No homescreen changes, no icon updates. Incoming calls still take up the whole phone as do Facetime calls. No multitasking on the Plus or Max iphones. Like they spent 20 mins are freaking Minecraft? The updated security Im sure is a welcome from the news of breaches. It says you can now sign in with Apple. Apple is just trying to hide the fact they wont be sharing with Google but they will still have access to peoples data. So for people to think they are safe from all tech companies then you must be blind. They finally added swipe to text. Android only has had that since day 1. Faster performance, like seriously, you build one of the fastest chips on the market and you are now only supporting 6s and up. Whos slow? The only thing keeping people on iphones is seriously iMessage. Seriously people know they have better features for the money on other phones like Samsung, Oneplus, etc yet your all now blinded that Apple is the best. Where is Jony Ive? Doesn't he still work at apple?
Some food for thought. Many many year ago you made the choice to use Apple as a brand in your hand. You still have that choice. Google, Microsoft all give you that choice as well.
Yes features that were out many many years ago on other platforms, but do they work well?? serious question. Android OS has issues with it's features all the time. But some fail to mention this when comparing....
Apple pretty much has stated they won't provide a feature or service until they get it right. And this is what they have done countless time. Touch ID, Face ID, rather than past issues with other platforms who brought it first but failed over all.
Dark Mode, as simple as it may seem, Apple wanted to get it right, not listening to us users, but they had dark mode for the past 2 iterations of iOS. But we never knew it because I am sure the internal testing team said “not yet”., but I am sure it just was not what they wanted to release until now. And I am not talking of inverted colors. Apple is surely working on iOS 14 already.
Heck look at the new Mac. 2 years in the making.....
Why change what works for 89% percent of users. Not many really care about design and icons, they want to click and go. It's about what the device does or the app does, not what it looks like, that would count for about 5% of most users honestly.
I think bottom line you had a lot of things in mind that you only wanted and didn't please you. Which is fine, that is why choosing Apple or any other brand is a choice. You can chose to use what ever you want, what ever device you want.
Sure take up Android and have a top line phone, then something else comes out and support or updates are dropped very very quickly. Yes it's happened many times already... How far back does certain Android OS's go back for support?
3-4-5 years of OS support for a new OS release from Android, even flag ship devices get booted.
