I picked up my 12.9 today, and overall I’m really pleased with the changes.

But the biggest difference for me is the sound quality coming from the speakers. Wow! They are brilliant.

I wonder if the 11inch iPad Pro are as punchy? I bought the 12.9 as an experiment, thinking it would be too big. So far I’m pleased with the form factor, but for travel I’m still not convinced? But if there’s a drop off in terms of sound volume or quality I’ll think twice about the trade off, and stick with the 12.9.

Yeah the speakers are just out of this world for such a small form factor device. I actually didn't even consider them in my buying decision, but once I played a song for testing purposes I realised that they're good enough to use them instead of my headphones at home.

The speakers on my 10.5" Pro were amazing and the speakers on my XS Max are amazing, so I figure the 11" Pro I have coming today is going to be equal to or better than both of those. It's insane how much sound quality they get out of those tiny spaces. Their audio engineering often gets overlooked but they are practically miracle workers in that category.

Just picked up a 12.9 myself, have to say, this is the first handheld computing device that I’ve ever had that is of sufficient sound quality to just sit and listen to! Usually use my Bose soundlink and whilst that provide far superior sound quality, the iPad on its own can do a really great job... crazy how they managed this...

Thanks for the replies

Any reviews from those who have bought the 11'? Big difference between ipp 12,9 1st/2nd gen and the 11? Thx

I agree that the sound quality is amazing. Watched a tv show on the nbc app earlier and was very impressed.

Just to put it out there, I’m happy with my 11 inch iPad overall but the sound quality is a noticeable downgrade on the 12.9 inch 2015 model.

But most likely an upgrade from a 10.5, going by what's said here. I just looked any the speakers at an Apple store after reading this thread. The 12.9 is a larger assembly (obviously). But I would imagine the 11 sounds pretty good.
