I just came back from apple in westfields and they told me that the 2nd line of production of iphone 4 will not have the antenna issue.

The problem is that they're not sure when they will receive them hopefully we will receive a leak soon on MR

You realise how ridiculous this sounds?

Are Apple making announcements about their flagship product through random Apple stores now?

Don't mean to sound like a tool (I'd like for this to be the case, even if the only outcome was that it put an end to all the BS emails and fanboyism) but really cant see anything coming of this. Hope I'm wrong.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

Add this news to the "confirmed" fix that was supposed to come via software update this week, and the free bumpers, and the $200 gift cards.

By "fixed" the Genius meant a free bumper and $170 GC inside each specially marked box. Void where prohibited by law.

I have no doubt that they are examining the engineering and may make minor changes to future production runs.

I do doubt that anyone working in any Apple store has visibility into the details at this point.

If by any chance IF.. the next batch is hardware modified without the antenna issue.. (this doesn't even make sense but let's pretend..) how about all the people who already got their ip4..

I guess you can't blame them... you have hundreds of people coming in every day asking about the same thing. I would probably make this up too.

What does a second batch have to do with it? It's the DESIGN of the phone that's the issue. Your hands are always touching the antenna.

Well a insulated coating on the antenna would fix the issue, or dampen it.
