You drove with it in your pocket?

What were you driving?

Motorcycle?

Car with no A/C?

I'm not in SoCal but it gets pretty hot around here ( been high 90's to low 100's ) even when riding the motorcycle with the phone in my front pocket where the sun beats down I never saw that.

I do recall an instance where the phone felt hot in my pocket, I pulled it out and realized it was left in the " Camera ON " mode. The do heat up with the camera on.

For more information about this, take a look at the iPhone users guide. It's in Safari as part of your built in bookmarks (click and hold the bookmark icon). Look at "Support and More Information", then "iPhone Operating Temperature".

When I first saw this, I thought it was a lame attempt at a joke. I had no idea the iPhone 4 would display this message when overheated! Pretty crazy. Must have been preeetty hot where you are. My phone has warmed up quite a bit in the sunny Florida weather, but never to this extent.

wish it was hot enough here in england to get that message. absolutley nailing it down with rain as we speak
I would love to exchange the 40°C (104°F) of heat I have here for that rain. Even Air conditioners can't keep up.

I haven't seen this happen to me yet. I leave it on the golf cart seat and it gets really hot sometimes sitting in the sun, but still works fine.
