I think many here, including myself, would love to have those to recondition and send back out into the world. It's more about the pleasure that comes from refurbishing old equipment. It all really depends on how many and what condition those items are in. The last thing I'd want to do is pick up the lot only to find I could get a few working pieces out of it and then have to dispose of the rest...even if he were going to give the lot to me.
Sorry for that - I guess "a few working pieces", that's what this offer is about! Did you see the condition of that pile of 'Books". Do you think someone removed the HDD with the adequate caution? I don't... Would cause me stomach ache to see how these nice machines had been treated!

Another option might be those shipping "pods or containers", the ones they drop off, you load and then they deliver.
You would need to make arrangements for someone to load it, possibly the seller.
You can get a pretty good price quote online.
Having actually rented one of those you'd probably be better off going with a U-Haul for a day.

$250 for a midsize container, $80 delivery/fuel charge, $80 pickup/fuel charge. Add another $80 for delivery/fuel again if the container is being picked up and stored/shipped.

About $125/month storage…wherever the container is (your place or theirs).

Not worth it for this I think.

No, no, no, no, no. :D :D

I was just mentioning what the price would be IF this was something that somebody (not me) would be doing.

I only know the pricing because we had our carpet replaced last summer and had to pull everything out of the house. We needed some place to put it while they replaced the carpet. That was a PODS container in our driveway.

deals like this are always popping up, usually when a school district or government agency is dumping stuff. and yes, some people can make some decent dollars on these packages but you have to be good at repair work AND be a good salesman. on the down side how many posts have you seen around here where someone asks if a working computer is worth $40 only to have a few people state that they would only give $20 for it? that's the nit picking world we live in today. anyone who buys that truckload is buying themselves a job. how much you make depends on how good you are. wanna work?
