You might want to save that little lecture for the features that AREN'T explained like this when the phone is first used:

Yes, I saw that notice ONCE.

If a phone is activated at the store, most users might never see it.

The point is, the question comes up regularly in other forums, and even had its own Yahoo answer. A decent UI for regular users would explain it each time until the user specifically said "Don't show me that again".

I can't remember getting that screen. I probably did but don't remember it. I suspect most would forget.

Oh crap. That happened to my phone just before one of the speakers blew.

I think the UI is pretty clear.

I find clicking on the colourful icons, and holding my finger on the colourful icons, pretty intuitive. Swiping and dragging around, and pressing the home button in moments of doubt seems pretty intuitive too.

I dunno man ... some people should explore and investigate and use their skills of deduction before they go all "OMG! WTF?" on the intarwebz.

When I bought my phone, I never saw that screen. After they activated my phone, they sent me to the other side of the Apple Store where an Apple employee was giving a presentation on how to use the phone. The presentation lasted about 30 minutes and she showed us quite a bit. Later, I went home on my PC and went to http://www.apple.com/iphone/tips/, which pretty much showed me everything else I didn't know ...
I still learn new stuff even today. I've never seen a pop-up on my phone though, telling me how to use it. Lol. :)

next time don't buy something just cause you think its cool.
Dude, come on. Seriously, isn't that why EVERYONE has bought the iPhone? It's cool as all get out. I want to get one soon, too. I think it's a great reason to get a phone, haha :D

I bought my phone because it is resourceful. I married my wife because I thought she was cool. :D

(just kidding. I'm dating a girl that is only with me because I have an iPhone3G :D )

As it crossed your mind that this guys is joking?

Oh and by the way the word "gullible" isn't in the dictionary... check it out.
