Wrapsol Invisible Shield on the MBP Pics

one more thing those of you who have done it for 2010.. does this cover the screws at the bottom? I am still waiting for my memory.. and also ssd at some point this year

Yes it covers the screws.
Also i believe on the wrapsol twitter page there is a code for 30% off

Thanks! Although I am bit impatient and will be getting my mbp on wed so was thinking about going to local microcenter to just pick it up.. will check out the coupon.. thanks!!

BUT it does suck that it covers the screws.. .that means time for upgrade, I have to take it out and get a new one?

the code is "twitmywrap" and yes it does suck that you have to remove the skin to make upgrades but the good thing about it is they have lifetime warranty so if anything happens to it like peeling if you mess up a corner or it gets a dirty tint to it you can send it back and get a replacement.

I have wrapsol on both my 2009 2011 17" mbp and neither bottom skin covers up the screw holes. They are precut out for the holes so u can take off your bottom cover.

I don't which wrapsol skin does that to the mbp.

My Wrapsol also has holes cut out for the screws on my mid-2010 MBP 15.

for those of you that use this - are they easy to install? I'd be afraid id really mess it up, I'm not usually a big fan of skins...

Theyre precut for the feet of the mbp but not the screws

They are precut for the four black ball feet and also the screws. Both my wrapsol for both my 2009 and 2011 17" Mbps are the same way. Perhaps u have the original version. They sell the precut screws film now.

Never mind as I see that it's ultra version that's not available which also covers the side?

I can also see in the pic that it does have holes for the screws..

hey thanks a whole bunch guys!!!

Hey guys,

thanks for the information. I am def a fan of wrapsol now(have it for my 2011 mbp 15.. loving it although installation isn't easy).

I think preserving the original apple stuff is the best way to go since their design for all product is top notch as well as brand recognition -- which is important!

Just ordered for my ipad 2 as well since I love it so much.

thanks!!!

Just FYI - I just bought another one of these for my new MBP, and the bottom piece did not have cutouts for the screws. I've never had a set like that before, so I contacted Wrapsol customer service. They told me they've changed their design so the bottom doesn't have cutouts.

I find that really dumb, as it means any time you want to upgrade your RAM, HDD, etc., the film gets ruined. I can't recommend Wrapsol unless you do all your upgrades before installing it and never plan on opening again. Then you need to hope you never have to take your MBP into Apple for repairs.

Really dumb change, in my opinion. Wrapsol was one of my favorite products.

Not sure how many people open their MBP on a regular basis.

The invisible shield looks good... invisible, that is. The most reasonable scratch protection I have seen so far. My question is: How does it look like a few month after applying the shield? All the scratches now will be on the shield. Does it still look good? Does it peel of at the sides?

I can see where this is useful for people who plan to resell their Mac eventually.

What is the cause of the darkened area? Discoloration?

That's actually dirt sticking to the part of the Wrapsol that's peeling off. I asked for a replacement (because of the corners peeling off) and I've got a brand new skin on :)

Sounds like they offer very good customer services!

Do I have to worry that the sides of the MBP are unprotected?
