This decision is torture.

I have 160/165mm wrists. Thinking the 38mm is the better size but the 42mm would JUST FIT my wrist.

Been using the Moto 360 for a guide which looks ok on me. The 42mm Apple Watch is smaller than the 360 so thinking I could be ok.

SOMEONE DECIDED FOR ME

I'm 165mm wrist also. Here's the thing, yes we could pull off the 42mm without a problem but it will look a bit nerdy on the wrist because it is a rectangular black screen.

The 38mm would look much better. So you have to decide, do you want something that looks good and appropriate for your wrist size or a big black rectangle strapped to your wrist.

Embrace your nerdiness! :)

As a nerdy person myself, I'm resigned to the fact that no matter what I do, this watch is going to be seen as a gadget first and foremost. I'm an old nerd, so my eyesight gets priority over fashion! ;)

my wrist is 187mm... i was thinking the 42mm, but i think it's slightly too big and the 38 looks slightly too small. i have watches that are similar sized to both, so i really can't decide.

I've flip flopped on this 100 times! I'm still doing it right now. I wish all the reviews that came out today listed their wrist size!

i made the PDF printout and still can't decide. I feel like either size doesn't really suit my wrist, and that the 38 isn't that noticeable of a difference.

I feel the same. I have a Fitbit Flex with tons of spare bands. I've had the paper versions taped to my spare bands for a few days now. I showed my coworker a picture of both on my wrist and he couldn't really tell that much of a size difference. Honestly i may just go the 38 mm route to save money on the first gen. I'm going to listen to my wallet this time around and get a sport model instead of the SS.

Here's a pic of a mockup of the 42mm on my wrist. Height, width and thickness are accurate. At the angle in this photo, it looks too big. But the rounded edges of the Watch should improve the look from that angle. And it's important to remember that 1 or 2mm of the 10.5mm thickness will be the heart rate sensor. And, finally, the watch band will help bring things into proportion.

Looking straight on, however, looks great.

Thats my wrist size but keep bouncing back and forth between 38 and 42.

Yeah for wrists that are in the middle it's much harder decision (if you want it day 1) to decide which size to go with. You have to ask yourself do you want a little bigger or smaller. I may go with 42mm and go for a try on to see if I made the right choice. If not then I'll just have to cancel and order 38mm and wait...

I've been debating all week, the Moto 360 is 4mm smaller and the 360 didn't over power my wrist. Gonna go 42mm with space left over either side.

BITE THE BULLET :D

I wanted a 42mm, but every picture I viewed of others with a similar wrist size (155.575mm) helped me decide against it. They cutouts look ridiculous on a small wrist. It may look better in person, but I'm not taking the chance, so 38mm it is.

Yeah I printed out the 42mm with band and it looks a lot smaller then I imagined. It fits perfectly on my wrist so I'm getting the 42mm!

168 mm male wrist, going for the 38 mm Apple Watch.
I like large watches, and have many that are 45 mm +
But when the screen is active, I fear it will look to flashy, overly apparent.
I want my first smart watch experience to be discreet and my own.

This is such a great poll and I hate to see it buried. Hoping more people can contribute to the thread at least (for some reason, the poll is closed - not sure why) so we can see what others ended up choosing in terms of size.

135mm wrist here. Went straight for the 38mm without hesitation when I ordered. I just hope it arrives soon! (Still in the May 12-26 slot).

235mm if I EVER get mine I will need to meet up with a leather punch to finish the deal!

You could get a link bracelet and add a couple links to it! :)

Mine's 8" / 203mm. I ordered the SB SS with Link Bracelet. Tried one on in store - fits perfectly as is. :)

I would have to sell my Car! and who knows what Apple will charge for the links!

I own an Movado Valor that I bought 15-20 years ago made of Tungsten and the links were $200 each!

knowing Apple they will match that link price!

Heh. No way Apple will make them that expensive. :) Once product becomes available, we'll find out.
