writing a comment in YouTube video on Safari

Hey all,

Discovered an issue today, that is kind of interesting.

So, I watch a video on youtube, want to write a comment, I go to the comment section and this is what happens.
I start typing the first word, and then I need a "Space" between the first and second word, so I hit space, but instead of Space, it actually pauses the video, hitting space again, resumes playback, so I can't write a comment.

Has anyone ever come across this?
I have a 2020 M1 MBP, with latest stable updates in.

yup, same issue here. Also, when I'm typing a comment and press the letter "f" it puts the video in fullscreen. Is this happening to you too?

yes, tested Firefox, same issues ... what is going on?
Not going to Google Chrome on principle ... just won't, so not sure if it is working there or not.

Exact same problem. Only just started happening within the last 2hrs. It's probably a YT glitch, since this seems to be a new occurance for all of us.

Yes. PITA. This has happened before.

Mine does it when searching YouTube videos through YouTube.
I thought I had a broken space bar until I tried in Notes to see if it still worked.

I thought I had a broken space bar until I tried in Notes to see if it still worked.

Right now, while using Safer on a Mac, I can't zoom in on the page. There seems to be some stuff youtube is doing, as interface keeps changing too.
