Hi
My new iPhone X, bought on Friday evening, seems to drain its battery quite fast while using it. TWhen it is in standby seems OK as it consumed 7% in 3 hours, so seems more than fine.
The problem is when I start using it, not too heavy usage and not long (some web surfing, IG, FG, Outlook, WhatsApp), it seems to be drained too fast. I checked the battery of last 24h to try to figure out which App was consuming so much and I was very surprised with Safari, as it says 30% battery in ONLY 9 minutes of it onscreen!
I just disabled the adblock content blocker I was using, just in case it was that app.
In order to confirm if Safari is draining the battery so fast I did a simple trial and I think the Battery Apps data is simply wrong (so whatever was draining more the battery while in use it was probably not Safari):
- I started the test, using Safari for regular Web surfing (content blocker Off), with a 72% battery- Battery data for Safari being those 9min in use draining that 30%
- After 5 minutes of Safari usage the battery has dropped from 72% to 71% (so probably quite normal) and... the battery data still says 9mins in use and 30%!
So:
1.- I have no clue what was draining more my battery while using the phone. Any hints?
2.- Battery consumption data is wrong. At least on my iPhone X for Safari. Any app to check for real battery consumption? I do not think there is anything like that for iOS
I restarted by iPhone twice since yesterday, so it shouldn't just be about restarting it
I checked again after 1h approx (with no more Safari usage but just 2 mails read) and battery is at 69% but the Apps battery data has updated properly for total Safari usage (14 mins instead of 9, so it should be those 5 mins from before) but now it says 35% of battery consumption....
