Hello, I am having a weird issue with one of my mac users in the office. She is using a macbook pro unibody running osx 10.6, and the problem occurs when using outlook 2011 and safari. Occasionally an email or web page will display text in a weird, almost unreadable font. Here is a link to a screen shot:

I have looked at the default font settings and there is no change or different setting in place. It is confusing to me because it does not happen all the time, only sometimes. Has anyone seen this before? Any advice or insight is really appreciated, thank you.

This looks like a text-encoding issue. The text appears to be standard English with diacritical accented characters rather than standard English characters. Without a lot more information about the problem messages, there is no way to tell if the problem was created by the sender, the recipient's email client, or if it is deliberate. If I were a betting man, then I would bet that the problem is caused by the recipient's setting a fixed encoding for received messages. This can be remedied by making the following setting in Mail--Message/Text Encoding>Automatic. Safari also allows the text encoding to be set within the browser. My text encoding is set to View/Text Encoding>Default.
