ny somewhere
ok, here's my mystery-of the day. went to message an article from News on my mac; when i put in my name, it came up with a wrong number, and, interestly, a local number for someone in the town i am in today. so, my name, but their number.

how is this possible? and how do i fix it? (i am going to try a reboot). but how could that happen? anyone??

EDIT: reboot did not fix it, but it's someone within about a block& a half away; so, some ISP thing?

anyway, if anyone has any ideas... post. thx

EDIT2: the problem is only on my mac; i can text myself from news on my iphone without issue.

i was able to get rid of the wrong number by turning off siri suggestions in system preferences. now i just need to ADD my number there (only my email shows up in messaging from news).

some progress, at least.
