I was messing aroudn with my old iPhone 2G while I had my 3GS on the table, I had my 2G connected and wanted to use blackra1n on it, I clicked "make it rain" but was disappointed when I found that nothing had happened to my 2G.

I turn to my 3GS and I realize that it was in recovery mode!

WTF??? I didn't know this was possible lol, how did blackra1n affect my 3GS when it wasn't even connected? And no I did not by accident connect my 3GS instead of 2G...

Now I have to restore my 3GS and everything again.

If you're sure you didn't just accidentally plug the 3GS in instead, must be geohot telekinesis.

no man I am positive, it must have something to do with wifi sync and the fact that my 3GS was "connected" via wifi to iTunes.

I doubt it, blackra1n would need to specifically be set up for that. I'm quite sure it's only programmed to use USB.

Was the 3Gs running iOS 5.X and set to WiFi sync and the computer you used was running 10.6.8 or 10.7.X and on the same WiFi network? If so, blackra1n used the same channels that iTunes uses to WiFi sync, but it instead put it into recovery mode.

That's what did it then. My guess is that Apple didn't fully think through the WiFi syncing and/or iMessage when they developed them.
