WTF??? How'd this happen? (Spotlight window)

    Wow, that's quite unnatural. Try rebooting and see if the problem doesn't go away.

    Mine was tucked under the menu bar the other day. I force quit Spotlight in Activity Monitor and all has been well since.

    The Spotlight results menu appearing halfway down the screen ;)

    Oooooor toss the plist file

    Home folder > Library > Preferences > com.apple.spotlight.plist drag that file to the desktop and see if it fixes it.

    I restarted and now it's fine. That was the weirdest thing.

    Same for me once....and same result, I force quit of Spotlight in Activity Monitor solved the problem. I think a killall Spotlight would have worked as well....for the terminal inclined.

    I think it's a Leopard bug, because I had the same thing happen to the Date/ Time drop-down from the Menu Bar. So it's not Spotlight specific, but related to Menu items. A restart restored it.
