wtf icon with QuuickReply?

couldn't think of another way to describe this haha. my phone vibrated a second ago, and this icon popped up in the upper right corner of my screen, next to my battery. i have NO idea what it is, or how to address/get rid of it. any help?

Either single tap or double tap the icon and the text message you received will pop up on the screen and allow you to reply or close the message out.

i don't have any unread sms's though......and single/doubble tapping it does nothing. i tried that. and holding down the status bar there just opens up proswitcher.....

its for status notifier or something like that. it tells you what you have in your status bar.
