product: Macbook-Pro 15-inch
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (Processor)
2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

I purchased my mac august 14, 2009
I went on it today and i notice that the background behind the log-in dialog box was displaying green lines instead of the original black colored background
and after i logged in i noticed that parts of my desktop wallpaper(the parts that were meant to be black) are displaying those lines and also in the graphics that had black.

What is wrong with my macbook screen?
I have a whole lot of exams and papers to complete can anyone help me??

try restarting first.

Press Command Option P R at start up right after you hear the start up chime/before the apple logo appears release when it chimes again and restarts.

if that doesnt work, remove the battery and unplug the system. press & hold the power button for about 10 seconds.

place the battery back in, boot up the system.

run the apple hardware test provided with your system discs to see if it shows anything out of whack if the lines appear again.

not 100% sure unless you can post a possible image of the lines youre seeing

previous happenings suggest it's a hardware problem, bet bet would be to take it back to your local apple store and have them look at it, they should be able to fix it for free since your still in warranty ;)

oh in future, dont double post less then 10 minutes after posting a thread ;), every thread gets answered eventually ;)
