any thoughts about tweaking the game so we play as we are?

Yeah, I was going to say, I think you're being a bit greedy ravenvii - this is already the best turnout we've had in awhile. I'd think about proceeding as is or we'll never get a game going.

A lot of people have already been coaxed out of the woodwork, not sure where even more are going to come from.

Is comeagain playing? He said in, but isnt on the list. Unlessed I missed him.

Greedy, moi?!

Fine. :p

Let's get the first step out of the way: deciding on how voting will work.

Possible choices:

a) No time limit.
b) Time limits at gamemaster's discretion.
c) Time limits.

You know which one I prefer. But for the sake of having the game be as fun as possible, I'll let you guys decide.

I understood your rationale for the rules in the last game we played. I'm a bit split on the time limits myself. I'll vote B. I want limits, but I trust you to use your best judgment on that.

Before you have to ask again.

As a side note, years ago some friends and I were playing the Battlestar Galactica board game (fun game). In the game, you start out with one of the characters from the series with a small chance players are cylons. The crew wins the game by getting the fleet to Kobol while the cylons win by stopping the fleet. The characters also have random individual victory conditions which may agree or disagree with the team victory conditions. Midway through the game, players have to pick a card to see if they were replaced by a cylon and their team goals have changed. The interesting thing is that nobody knows who the cylons are unless they want to reveal it to everyone.

In this game, the person running the game didn't shuffle the cards used to determine who became a cylon and we all became cylons in the middle of the game. We didn't realize the mistake till the end of the game (the cylon team won) :D.

C'mon! One more vote for b and we're ready to roll..oh, wait..:(

ravenvii, is only 14 really messing up the game mechanics that much?

Wait, we're already starting, aren't we?  Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

Well, one more B before we reach majority and can start the game.

(I'm looking at you, twietee ;))

Well, that was 100% too subtle for me.

Anyway, quick tally:

8 votes from 15 participants cast, all for b) - woodnufc, comeagain?, chrmjenkins, twietee, scepticalscribe, Plutonius, Sythas and ravenvii in that order. Since that's the absolute majority I'll take it the game has finally started with a solid delay of roundabout 5 months. Am I doin' good, ravenvii? ;)

Hope so. Can I vote for Moyank right away or do I have to wait for your signal? Ok, I'll be patient then...

I have read 0 of this thread, but if you need one more, I can play and read the thread later today. I've played prior WW games and the BSG board game anyway so I get the general gist of what you guys are likely doing.

Well, you just screwed up my whole tally, but I can safely say you're more than welcome!

You may vote for

a) No time limit.
b) Time limits at gamemaster's discretion.
c) Time limits.

I dunno what the vote is for exactly but it sounds like 8 people voted for B and B is bolded so I'll vote B so I can eat lunch at the popular table.

Nah, that's just a typo.

It's about possible timelimits for the voting processes. They happen to take quite some time sometimes and you may want to have a limit forcing things to speed up a bit. Or you prefer a loose approach, like some others here. But we're all pretty cool here, so it doesn't really matter what you vote for...probably make sure to read the 4 commandments Plutonius set up above, they'll give you the very basic ideas. :D

Oh, and technically, you have to bold the letter you'd want to vote for :p

In that case... B
