10:37 am with time machine, you can get those files back by entering a date or time
10:36 am finder windows
important stuff
10:35 am ever had time where you work on a doc and you do a save as and overwrote the wrong one?
10:35 am coolest part - and reason we call it that - whole new way of backing up files
10:35 am backup to HD, or server
10:35 am can restore everything, or just one file at a time
10:34 am can be right where you were when the HD drive
10:34 am automatically backs up mac
you change a file, it automatically backs up
photos, music, documents, files folder, everything
then you can restore everything
10:34 am plan to change all of that
Time Machine

SWEET

10:39 am great for finder - but can work with 3rd party apps as well
10:39 am it is that easy to go back in time and restore what you want to restore
10:39 am desktop "warps" back to place in time
10:39 am file previews without going through full restore
10:38 am devs are impressed
10:38 am finder windows "warping" forward
10:38 am can go back a day - or two days
10:38 am timeline on right-hand side

They appear to have sneaked in a versioning system as part of it. It's only 25 years late, but I'll take it!

Yeah, I'm thinking this was already done by that other company.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but where and when will we get to watch this presentation? I'm dying to see it. :)

Time Machine has enormous potential. It could be the killer app people have been waiting for in 10.5.

This should get enterprise users' and corporate buyers' attention.

Does this time machine app require a backup target equal or greater in size of your main hd? what if you have multiple hd's? it seems like its going to require a ton of space.

Real Computers routinely had this kind of thing. The GUI addition is a nice touch though. And the computer fits on a desk.
