Why is it that when I reload this page it takes me to the end post and then quickly shoots me back up half the page ? Why won't it just take me to the last post like it usually does ?

Hmm, push notification service for developers - Apple maintains the server to push info to the phone.

It's not "It's better!" It's "Look what you can buy now!"

I have to say I'm disappointed. I've been watching the updates for an hour, and all I see is how easy it is to write apps for the new iPhone and how many apps you can buy for the lo-lo price of only $9.99! I don't see anything about how much better the iPhone 2 is as a consumer device; I just see a lot of corporate buy-in hype. :-(

GOOOOODDDD Windows Mobile Task manager. What a piece of shi* that is. I couldn't stand using my Blackjack.

come on guys....no way there is gonna be a 3G iPhone today. There's not enough time left in the Keynote for such an announcement

the med-apps are for teaching students and for pulling out scans and such on the go.
how about someone is on a trip and have to go to ER treatment and the local doctor can pull up his/her scans directly on the phone?

It's fairly obvious that there will be a new iPhone today - no one should get their panties in a twist. The fact that there's a location based API (and a Loopt app, which relies exclusively on GPS) indicates that the iPhone has GPS.... which it doesn't, so we'll need one that does.

Seemed sort of backwards to me, in fact, to do all this application talk FIRST and ruin part of the "surprise" of the new hardware. That said, I'm curious about the software and if it'll all be touch compatible, this "fantasy role playing game" being mentioned, and pricing on the new iPhone.

I can't justify $60/month for an iPhone but it's certainly tempting. Oooh, push for any dev? Push Gmail would be nice.

i dont want to see an iphone when i'm at my doctor.... "so you have colon cancer, and I can show you your colon on my iphone!!! isnt this cool??"

.... no thanks

There is a difference on what you are using it for. You cannot diagnose on an iPhone. Its nice for a quick glance. Diagnostics are done on very high end monitors.

Medical staff uses a lot of PDA's for this kind of thing now. The iPhone is now just joining in.

It would be cool if he announces new hardware, not even a new iPhone. Just new hardware in general.
