Apple will introduce a new 22" LED ACD for $699.
It will have an amazing, great and easy to use response time of 12ms.
The resolution will be 1600x900
It will work with one Apple computer, but Apple won't tell you which one until you buy it.
It can work with all Apple computers with the purchase of two adapters for $100.
It will come with a super glossy mirror glass.
A matte option will be availble for $150.
Polarized anti-glare viewing goggles will be available for $100.

This is so true.

I disagree. Latest rumours have backtracked to tablet launch in January (my guess-CES, Jobs to keynote), go on sale in March, and maybe promise of an SDK at WWDC, but nothing for the general developer community until Apple's done some deals with and implemented major tablet content partners - book/magzine/newspaper publishers, etc

Jobs keynote at CES? Not gonna happen dude. That rumor will stay a rumor. :apple:

I really don't understand the moves of Apple not to go to the Macworld. First, well this is Macworld and un unless something terrible has happened, this is really a dumb move not to attend a salon this big that concerns your computers.

Keep your expectations low, then you'll never be disappointed!

As for Macworld, Cynically you could say it was politics between Macworld getting business off the back of Apple who was just EXPECTED to show up. But from a business perspective, I would have thought Apple just didn’t want to have to try to rush a breathtaking new product out the door every single January, and also conflict with the press attendance in CES.

There’s a reason they always release new products on Tuesdays, its all PR :p

It's pretty obvious what we're seeing at this event: the fourth generation iPhone. What features will it have, I have no idea. I have a feeling iLife '11 and iWork '11 will be announced and will take advantage of Snow Leopard's capabilities, as well as being 64 bit and intel only.
Any other media events any time soon? Fangin for some new product releases like those between 2005 and 2007.
The next media event will most likely be in March 2010, when they debut iPhone OS 4.0 and give developers builds of them.

That's funny!

This is it!

So now we have proof that the new iPhone will be somewhere in there! I know it is just a rumor but as Shiller has made clear this is the iPhone product cycle. I hope even if Apple went to Verizon that they would still stay with AT&T. Anybody know if Apple would just drop At&t. I love AT&T they are good in my area. I cannot wait til' iPhone 4g and 4.0 are announced as WWDC would coincide with my AT&T contract ending.

iPhone 4g better have....

5mp camera
Better battery,
Awesome design,
and more.

Keep up with the now stiffening competition.

They won't drop AT&T.

Because of the long time between Apple conferences, I think there's a risk that Apple will time product announcements or releases around the event rather than announce products when they are ready. When they had more frequent shows this seemed less likely.

Why is it a problem? Three reasons:

1. They may announce products prematurely so they don't miss the deadline. That leads to vaporware, low sales on orders of earlier products, confusion about product details, and frustrating delays in getting our hands on products after we hear about them. I suppose knowing about products in advance can help us plan our purchases and can build up exictement, but I often find pre-announcements more annoying than helpful.

2. They may release products too soon. If a product's development is behind schedule, they may omit features or do insufficient testing to meet the deadline rather than have a separate and much smaller press event later.

3. They may hold a product's release until a show to get the best splash. Perhaps announcement of a product that could have been ready in May is held off until WWDC to maximize attention.

Am I just imaging these possibilities or are they real?

Why would Apple drop AT&T? the point is to branch out to Verizon etc., but not drop carriers.

For products that are updates on existing products (and not new product categories), Apple presumably has a pretty good idea of when they'll be ready, at least plus or minus three months.

From Apple's POV:

Having two conferences per year, especially one directly following the holidays, placed undue pressure on expectations for new product announcements.

Holiday sales would suffer, as a result, due to expectations of new revisions.

Rather than needing to 'time' releases to the schedules of the conferences, they seem now to be in a better position to release products via 'Special Events,' when products are ready to ship.

Of course, holding one or two products over until WWDC would provide 'good box office,' the Special Event venue is turning out to be a favorable one.

Now that Apple has a large presence with its retail stores and growing rep, perhaps they feel that they no longer need the spotlight of Macworld, as they did during the past decade.

This is awesome! Now I can just hang around a few more days and be in SF for the 4th of July. I have been bummed that these last few WWDC's have been moved to early June.

Quick get your hotel reservations now before everything is booked!

Hell yeah dude, i'm with you on this one.
Althoughh, i don't believe iPhone isn't going anywhere with any other carrier, other than AT&T. Just because Apple iPhone is such a big global cell phone that are all baisically on GSM networks.(in other words, iPhone likes to go international & travelers can have a better experience.) Also, CDMA is becoming old, while Gsm is more modern and Apple likes to roll with modern.

As for the next generation iPhone,
Who knows if it'll be 4G. it's too early for it to be 4G, especially if AT&T and/or Verizon is gonna be working on it in the future. The only way they'll roll out a 4G iPhone will be if Apple attaches itself to Sprint, who is currently the only 4G network in America.

Camera: Expecting a 5 megapixel, but Apple wouldn't do 12 megapixel, for SURE! atleast not now.

Design: Most most most likely a new disign, most likely slimer, etc.
Don't be expecting a physical or Slid out physical keyboard. There is a reason why Apple talked about it in WWDC '07 and there's a reason for adding a smart virtual keyboard.

Battery: I'm real positive that Apple will boost up the battery life to atleast 7 hours of talk-time. My highest hours of guess,(or atleast 9 hours, to the MAX.)

Resolution: Positive that Apple will also boost up their resolution, but not too many. And i'll be super suprised& shocked if Apple releases an OLED screen. Very very "suprised"(doubt it they'll get an OLED screen.)

User interface: Can be worked on, and am probably expecting a 4.0 update anytime soon. It's highly possible.
As for the UI, i'm real comfortable as how it is for myself.

Overall, these changes are expectations that Apple will unviel with the 4th generation iPhone. Hopefully better ideas may come out soon.
Just don't expect Verizon Wireless. (I'd also be suprised.)
:apple:

That's not happening. The 100,000+ Applications for the iPhone are designed for a 480x320 screen, hence filling the whole screen. If the resolution changes, then every single app out now and every app in development needs to be redone.

Not all apps would need to be redone - just those that use bitmaps. And the ones that use bitmaps could be automatically scaled based on the Info.plist. They'll look crumby until the app developers update the apps with new higher-res resources, but they'll work and fill the screen.

What a waste of a good database entry.

Excuse my naïveté. When are they announcing new products without MacWorld in January?

Will we get notice a week ahead of an event announcing Tablet?

Fourth gen iPhone most likely. Apart from extra capacity, main improvement I would like is improved camera with video zoom capability. A flash for the camera would be a huge improvement

I'd prefer an additional front-facing camera to an improved back-facing camera (assuming, hypothetically, that they would do one or the other).
