iRadio would be limited to using it at home. I can't imagine streaming music via cellular network or Starbucks wanting customers with endless downloads.

The only time I listen to radio is when I travel. But what I would like is the possibility to purchase the current track and to request specific music like certain artists, songs from my favourite TV show etc.

2. Bad analogy as 9 engineers can positively impact development while releasing the update on time. This is not a "too many cooks in the kitchen" scenario but rather more objective heads involved notice bugs/issues other engineers miss as due to stress, lack of support especially when constant work on the same thing produces tunnel vision. Objectivity leads to better results.

While you may be correct about long term staffing decisions, this statement makes me question whether you've ever managed a software development effort. Throwing (inexperienced) bodies at a schedule problem late in the cycle has negative effects on the schedule and depending on what they are assigned to do, degrade the quality of the work. The Mythical Man-Month is a wonderful read for those that haven't lived it.

It's been a while since I perused the threads in regards to WWDC. I noticed the hype has died down for a new phone release. No mention of iPhone 5S?

Except that my Macbook uses over 3GB after a reboot, while my windows media server uses just 1...

Hell, Kernel task uses 1.66GB on it's own.

Free memory is useless memory. It's possible that the kernel actually utilises the free memory to speed up the devic and to do other tasks, and stops them when the computer requires more memory.

Windows reports caches as "available" memory - cache and other data in RAM is categorized internally as "standby" memory, but reported as "free" or "available" in most user displays.

Here's a memory snapshot from my laptop right now - note that it reports 17,111 MiB as available, even though only 718 MiB is literally free.

Yeah, but I was talking about OS X. Does it do that?

----------

You know you're a fanboy when you recite the Windows Vista mantra.

Vista genuinely was being slowed down. OS X doesn't feel slower, even though activity monitor shows that quite a bit of memory is used.

I usually get only 1 out of 4 GB free, even when doing mostly nothing. But yet I can still open up preview, Xcode, safari, MS office, and it won't slow down.

Here's my Macbook's RAM, Chrome and iTunes are open though.

Video?

Does anyone know if someone will be streaming video from the crowd like what happened for a short period of time during last years WWDC?

If so, i'm guessing it will be a last minute thing

One Man's Opinion

First of all, APPLE --- PLEASE DON'T HAVE PHIL SCHILLER OPEN HIS MOUTH. LET JONY IVE DO THE TALKING. I respect Phil's marketing prowess but as a public speaker, well, I' rather listen to Steve Ballmer screaming out the virtues of Win7 that Phil talking about Apple products. :eek:

iOS7 - Interested in this. But, geez, a quick access to toggle WiFi and other things: really? I've been doing that for over 3 years. its called Jail-broken SB Settings. Its about time, Apple. :confused:

OSX 10.9 - no big whoop for me at all. I'm running on the 'slower that 10.7 OS called 10.8'. I can't imagine how slow 10.9 will be.:eek::eek:

Improved portables: very excited to see how Apple will continue to define portable computing. :D

Mac Pro - a Niche market that has been starved of an update for quite a while and for film editing and CAD people this is important or their next computer will (if it isn't already) a Win7 box. But for me no big deal. :rolleyes:

iRadio: Seriously? Come on, now Apple is offering a Spotify/Pandora competitor? Geez....yawn...double yawn.:confused:

But the serious money doesn't think the iTV and iWatch will be in the mix tomorrow. Never wore a watch and won't start now but the iTV is something that could be pretty damned interesting...plus Apple has to get on this wave or Samsung will set a standard. :confused:

By tomorrow this time we'll all know if we were right or not.

Scenarios for tomorrow:

Worst case:
- iOS 7 unveiled, not too many changes, not yet available
- OS X 10.9 unveiled, not too many changes, not yet available

Best case:
- iOS 7 unveiled, major redesign;
- OS X 10.9 unveiled, major redesign;
- rMBP updated, immediately available;
- MBA redesigned and featuring a retina display, immediately available;
- Mac Pro redesigned, and immediately available;
- iRadio launched.

Most likely case:
- iOS 7 unveiled, major redesign;
- OS X 10.9 unveiled, some improvements;
- MBA updated, immediately available;
- iRadio launched.

Agree? Disagree?

No cMBP update ? :p

iRadio? Who cares? I hate all radio. Pandora, etc. I shouldn't have to listen to music with advertisements. Radio is dead and has been dead for a while. Apple killed it with their iPod and they haven't even realized it yet? Jeez.

Pandora One = problem solved. No ads, good music.

A computer that just works?

Remember when you bought a Mac because it worked nicely and it was a machine you could keep for years?

A radio? Is this a ****** joke? It's like we went back ten years in time...
